Requirements
  • 3+ years of technical experience, including in high-volume manufacturing of consumer electronics
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant field of science; graduate degree a plus
Responsibilities
  • Support entire program development cycle, from design concept through program end of life
  • Work with commodity managers and supplier quality engineers to ensure component quality and reliability; make recommendations to improve design/test
  • Own product quality strategy and execution across incoming quality, in-line quality, outgoing quality, and ongoing reliability testing
  • Develop and implement new technologies to enhance quality, capacity, and efficiency
  • Spearhead innovative new ways to identify and resolve customer-facing issues
  • Develop and advocate for new, innovative metrics for measuring performance
  • Establish new methods for monitoring and reporting factory health and status, including Incoming Quality Control (IQC), Outgoing Quality Control (OQC), and Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT)
  • Lead data-driven approaches to failure analysis on Watches
  • Implement best practices and learnings across manufacturing sites
  • Strategically prioritize top-issue investigations and corrective actions
  • Succinctly communicate technical updates to the executive team

  • Good understanding of electronic assembly processes
  • Experience partnering with contract manufacturers in high-volume production; experience traveling to manufacturing sites
  • Ability to travel internationally about 15%
  • Superior communications skills
  • Ability in working with and analyzing data sets; Proficient analytical skills - able to analyze large data sets to extract and find errors/discrepancies; Proficiency in statistical skills
  • Knowledge in Python scripting; Building and maintaining automated scripts to report on data errors
  • Experience with complex database querying
  • Creating reports with visualization tools such as Tableau (build out of dashboards for the data)
