Requirements
  • A Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or graduation from an approved Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse program.
  • A current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to read technical procedures and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of residents.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant action.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, and of laws, regulations, and guidelines applicable to nursing care facilities.
  • Leadership and supervisory ability, including willingness to supervise other personnel.
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for quality care.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to maintain required continuing education and licensing and remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Ability to move intermittently, communicate understandably, function independently, and work effectively with residents and personnel.
  • Ability to push, pull, move, or carry at least 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet and over a distance of 50 feet.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.
  • Direct nursing assistants' day-to-day functions and ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, job descriptions, and applicable regulations.
  • Plan shift services, programs, activities, staffing, and work assignments with nursing and support personnel.
  • Review and recommend revisions to departmental policies, procedure manuals, and job descriptions.
  • Prepare written and oral shift reports and recommendations.
  • Coordinate nursing services with resident services and other departments.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs, facility surveys, discharge planning, and resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Complete medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, census reports, charge slips, and accident or incident reports.
  • Protect resident and facility information by maintaining password confidentiality, protecting protected health information, and reporting unauthorized access.
  • Complete admission, transfer, discharge, charting, and other required medical-record documentation.
  • Receive and transcribe physician orders, maintain nurses' notes, record diet changes, and report discrepancies.
  • Prepare and administer medications and treatments as ordered, verify resident identity, maintain medication supplies, and manage narcotic records.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations, identify staffing needs, provide leadership, conduct rounds, and report personnel issues to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Ensure nursing assistants and trainees meet supervision, training, and care-plan requirements.
  • Provide nursing care including admissions, assessments, treatments, rehabilitation, monitoring, resident and family communication, and coordination with physicians.
  • Perform catheterization, tube feedings, suctioning, dressing changes, colostomy and drainage-bag care, specimen collection, vital-sign measurement, and range-of-motion exercises.
  • Review and maintain resident care plans and ensure that certified nursing assistants follow them.
  • Develop and conduct in-service training and orientation for nursing personnel.
  • Monitor safety, sanitation, infection-control procedures, personal protective equipment, emergency drills, and hazardous-condition reporting.
  • Maintain adequate medication, supply, and equipment inventories and ensure safe equipment operation.
  • Provide information to the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee as requested.
  • Work throughout nursing service areas, respond to emergencies and call-back conditions, and attend continuing education programs.

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion.
