Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred)
  • 5+ years of accounting/finance experience in manufacturing
  • Strong cost accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting expertise
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar)

Responsibilities
  • Lead preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual plant financial statements
  • Analyze production cost data (materials, labor, overhead) to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Deliver clear, actionable insights to plant and corporate leadership
  • Oversee cost accounting systems to ensure accurate tracking and allocation of production costs
  • Develop and maintain standard cost models for labor, materials, and overhead
  • Monitor inventory valuation and reconciliation for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
  • Oversee the accuracy and valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory
  • Ensure proper inventory reconciliation processes are followed to minimize discrepancies and stockouts
  • Coordinate with the supply chain and procurement teams to monitor inventory levels, forecast needs, and manage aging inventory
  • Lead the annual budgeting process for the plant, working with plant management and operations to develop accurate, achievable financial targets
  • Develop and maintain rolling forecasts to ensure financial performance is aligned with business goals
  • Monitor plant operating performance and adjust financial projections as necessary
  • Ensure that plant financial operations comply with company policies, GAAP, and relevant industry regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA for food safety and manufacturing)
  • Partner with internal auditors and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls
  • Assist with the implementation of cost control and financial systems improvements to maintain strong internal controls over plant finances
  • Partner with plant management, production supervisors, and department heads to understand operational challenges and financial implications
  • Provide financial support and analysis to operations teams to help drive process improvements and optimize resource utilization
  • Act as a liaison between plant operations and corporate finance departments, ensuring seamless communication and understanding of financial data
  • Manage or participate in special projects, such as system upgrades, new product costing, and financial analysis of new product lines or equipment purchases
  • Implement process improvements or financial system changes that enhance the accuracy and efficiency of plant operations accounting
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

C.H. Guenther & Son, a commercial baking and food manufacturing company, has acquired Les Aliments Mejicano Inc., a flour tortilla producer with 30 years of experience. The transaction significantly expands C.H. Guenther's tortilla manufacturing and distribution capabilities across North America. Based near Montreal, Mejicano operates state-of-the-art facilities that will enhance C.H. Guenther's supply chain flexibility and capacity to serve foodservice, retail and private-label customers. The acquisition strengthens the company's platform in the fast-growing tortilla category. San Antonio-headquartered C.H. Guenther employs over 5,000 people across 30 manufacturing facilities in the United States, Canada and Western Europe. The company is owned by PPC along with management and co-investors. Transaction terms were not disclosed.
