Night Receptionist
About the job
- French and English are required.
- Entry-level candidates are accepted.
- Knowledge of the Opera hotel-management software is an advantage; Opera Cloud is also an advantage.
- Candidates should be professional, versatile, presentable, and personable; able to work both in a team and independently; enjoy guest contact; anticipate guest requests; listen with empathy; and manage stress.
- Welcome guests on arrival, complete administrative check-in procedures, and assist guests throughout their stay.
- Manage room reservation schedules when required, verify reservations, and complete guest check-ins and check-outs using hotel-management software.
- Complete the nightly computer closing and prepare reports related to hotel activity during the night.
- Maintain, control, and close the personal cash register at the end of each shift; manage payments, deposits, and financial transactions according to procedures.
- Answer telephone calls, occasionally take reservations, and handle specific guest requests.
- Pass key instructions and information to the daytime team to ensure continuity of service.
- Promote the hotel's services and suggest additional services suited to each guest.
- Ensure the safety of property and people during the night, follow emergency procedures, and know the required response to evacuations or critical situations.
- Welcome all guests, including guests with disabilities, in accordance with safety rules.
- Work closely with other departments, including housekeeping, breakfast service, and management.
- Prepare information and documents required to open morning services.
- Set up the breakfast buffet and welcome early guests when needed.
- Prepare seminar rooms.
- Keep the work area clean and equipment in good condition; follow internal hygiene, safety, and quality procedures and establishment standards.
- Experience with the Opera hotel-management software, including Opera Cloud.
- Knowledge of one or more additional foreign languages.
