Based in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, NTCE (Nissan Technical Centre, Europe) is our UK Research and Development hub. We are home to the functions that help us lead the way in vehicle design and development of the vehicles manufactured in our European plants. With more than 900 people based here from over 25 different countries, it’s a hive of ideas, imagination, and vision, based in open-plan spacious offices designed to encourage cross-functional collaboration. The teams at the Cranfield Nissan Technical Centre work to develop engineering and design requirements for new car models across the world. Purpose
This is a 2-year Research & Development, Connected Car Engineering - Infotainment Test role, with a 2025 start date, but it’s not about sitting on the side-lines. You’ll be a valued member of the team from day one, gaining hands-on experience and working alongside industry experts.

There will be lots of opportunity for learning on the job from our highly skilled and experienced Engineers and the scheme also has training programme, which focuses on supporting you in the transition from university into the workplace and providing the skills and knowledge to help you on your way to moving into an Engineer role after 2 years.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities
You will work with features such as Navigation, DAB Radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Google automotive services and the infotainment hosted features, such as Camera and Vehicle Climate control systems.
Validation of Nissan Infotainment systems for vehicles in development for manufacture in Europe.
Creation of test plans to meet with project and design milestones.
Defining test cases based on technical specifications of infotainment features.
Confirming vehicle level quality, function & reliability standards are maintained when changes are implemented.
Formally reporting the closure status and test results to upper management.
Market quality investigations and countermeasure development, when needed
Skills you would develop:
Software validation project management
Supplier management
Software development process (V-cycle)
Hardware development process and test
Vehicle Communication network analysis (CAN,LIN, Ethernet)
Software quality concern management and resolution (Jira, Test Rail etc)
Root cause analysis and problem solving
Entry Requirements
You must hold the following qualification(s): Undergraduate or Postgraduate Degree graded 2:1 or above.
Electronic/Electrical Engineering, or relevant equivalent subject
Sufficient evidence of your right to work in the UK will be required. The validity of your right to work in the UK or VISA must extend until September 2027 in order for you to qualify for this position.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate should have the following skills, interests, or experience:
An interest in vehicle electronics
Curiosity and passion for customer facing technologies
Readiness to work in a multinational team
Be able to follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections.
Understand network communications and multiple bus principles (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
Confidence when presenting
Methodical, systematic approach to problem solving
Good planning, organising and time management skills.
Previous experience of automotive electronics/software validation is desirable, but not essential.
Previous experience of network analysis tools (CANalyzer, CANoe etc) is desirable but not essential.

Competitive base salary starting at £33,904
