Requirements
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounts payable procedures, accounting principles, and management principles.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of NetSuite or another large enterprise resource planning system.
  • Strong working knowledge of an automated Accounts Payable system, such as Tipalti.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and advanced formulas.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of Accounts Payable management and month-end close experience.
Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple employees and activities in a high-volume Accounts Payable environment.
  • Lead day-to-day Accounts Payable operations and manage the monthly Accounts Payable close.
  • Create a service-oriented environment for internal and external stakeholders and ensure prompt and thorough responses to requests.
  • Lead and complete projects that develop and strengthen cross-functional policies and procedures to maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure invoices and payments are processed according to terms, accurately and promptly, including proper three-way matching before payment.
  • Support the accuracy of Accounts Payable-related general ledger accounts by ensuring routine activities are completed promptly, including entering payments, applying credit memos, and closing purchase orders.
  • Review coding and subsidiary allocations for Accounts Payable invoices and credit card expenses posted to the general ledger.
  • Review banking support items for reconciliations, returned payments, and positive-pay exceptions.
  • Manage and maintain the employee expense reimbursement process, ensuring expense invoices are approved by department heads and paid accurately and promptly.
  • Research, resolve, and communicate invoicing issues, discrepancies, and outstanding vendor-account balances, and reconcile monthly vendor statements.
  • Work with the Accounting team to ensure month-end accruals are properly recorded and create and enter journal entries as necessary.
  • Prepare or review account reconciliations, including Accounts Payable and Received Not Invoiced subledgers, for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for Accounts Payable accounts and reconcile cleared checks in the enterprise resource planning system.
  • Review and document operating practices, procedures, and systems.
  • Ensure accurate annual reporting of Form 1099s.
  • Develop, monitor, and report department metrics such as invoice aging, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures for procure-to-pay workflows.
  • Assist with external audits, including preparing workpapers, schedules, and supporting documentation.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Exposure to Accounts Payable automation software, preferably Tipalti.
  • Experience with BlackLine close automation.
  • Understanding of a multi-entity accounting and reporting organizational structure.
