  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; experience with operational dashboards preferred.

About the company

SpaceX builds and launches reusable rockets and spacecraft for NASA, the military, and companies, and it runs Starlink, a satellite internet service for homes and businesses. In 2020, its Dragon capsule became the first privately built spacecraft to carry astronauts to the International Space Station. Its Falcon 9 rocket lands its first stage so the booster can fly again, which cuts launch costs, while Starlink beams internet from low-orbit satellites to small dishes for a monthly fee. SpaceX also owns xAI, maker of the Grok chatbot and owner of the social network X, and is building Starship, a fully reusable rocket meant to carry people to the Moon and Mars. Elon Musk founded SpaceX in 2002, and it is based in Starbase, Texas.

  • Room to grow: SpaceX listed 2,693 open roles in October 2026, over a third of them for Starlink.
  • Rivals rent its AI supercomputers: Claude maker Anthropic agreed in May 2026 to pay SpaceX $1.25 billion a month.

What critics are saying

  • Stock grants swing hard: shares closed between $108 and $211 in the four months after the June 2026 IPO.
  • Expect long weeks: 1,724 of SpaceX's 2,693 job posts in October 2026 mention extended hours and weekend work.
  • AI spending outruns sales: SpaceX put $15.8 billion into AI data centers in the June 2026 quarter, double its revenue.

What makes SpaceX unique

  • SpaceX is the world's busiest launcher by far: its 165 orbital launches in 2025 were nearly double China's total.
  • Starlink carries the profits: it earned $1.7 billion in the June 2026 quarter, while rockets and AI lost $1.8 billion.
  • Elon Musk has the final say: super-voting shares give him about 82% of shareholder votes after the June 2026 IPO.

SpaceX faces 7.8% options-implied earnings swing as $18.4B capex tests investors

SpaceX reports third-quarter results on October 20, and options traders expect a 7.8% move in the stock either way. From its October 16 close of $146.03, that implies a range of roughly $134.64 to $157.42. Analysts expect earnings of $0.14 per share on about $12.9 billion in revenue. Shares fell 13.61% in one session after the second-quarter report, when SpaceX posted a $541 million net loss and spent $18.4 billion on capital expenditures, $15.8 billion of it on AI computing systems. Evercore raised its price target to $270 from $230 and projects a $104 billion annual revenue run rate by year-end. Pivotal Research lifted its target to $230 from $220, forecasting Q3 revenue of $13.2 billion and EPS of $0.21. Investors will watch whether heavy spending is turning into revenue and earnings.

Analyst says Verizon has "no differentiation" as SpaceX's $8B spectrum deal hits carriers

SpaceX agreed on October 8 to buy Grain Management's nationwide 800 MHz spectrum for Starlink Mobile, in a deal The Wall Street Journal valued at around $8 billion. Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile US each fell more than 10% the next day. LightShed Partners analyst Walter Piecyk says Verizon is most exposed. "What is Verizon's differentiation in the market right now? They have none," he said, arguing T-Mobile now has the best network. Verizon's revenue rose from $134 billion in fiscal 2021 to $138 billion in fiscal 2025, while total debt reached $185 billion. The deal needs Federal Communications Commission approval. SpaceX expects upgraded Starlink Mobile service by the end of 2027, and Verizon reports third-quarter results on October 26.

Musk unveils flying electric car and plans SpaceX share giveaway for every US child

Yahoo Finance Executive Editor Brian Sozzi says Elon Musk has had a "monumental" five days. Musk, founder of SpaceX and Tesla, unveiled what Sozzi calls the world's first flying car, an electric model that can perform mid-air barrel rolls. Musk also announced that every child in America will receive one share of SpaceX stock starting next year. Sozzi says that could amount to billions of dollars. Sozzi dismissed sceptics who say the moves distract from weak earnings at SpaceX and Tesla, or aim to repair Musk's image after his work with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). He said he is not calling Musk perfect, only weighing the facts as presented.

SpaceX buys $8B of spectrum, but a rival mobile network could cost over $80B

SpaceX has bought 800 MHz of spectrum licences from Grain, with a source putting the price at nearly $8 billion. The company called it a "critical next step" for Starlink Mobile. Challenging AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile will take more than airwaves. TD Cowen estimates a network build would cost more than $80 billion, on top of spending on Starship, AI infrastructure, and its Terafab chip factory. SpaceX plans a hybrid system: up to 15,000 approved Starlink Mobile satellites, plus antennas on towers and rooftops. It also holds 65 MHz of EchoStar spectrum, and aims to start service by the end of next year. Rivals are unmoved. Verizon said airwaves are "empty" without a network to use them.

Sandisk, SpaceX and Seagate lead growth picks as Iran war costs bite; SpaceX valued at $2T

Simply Wall St has named three growth stocks to watch in October 2026: Sandisk, Space Exploration Technologies, and Seagate Technology Holdings. It says analysts expect strong earnings momentum from all three, even as higher fuel and transport costs linked to the US war with Iran squeeze households. Sandisk, a flash storage maker, generates about $20.2 billion from its storage portfolio and has a market cap of roughly $204.2 billion. Demand for its enterprise SSDs is tied to AI and cloud growth. Space Exploration Technologies earns about $13.9 billion from Connectivity, $5.1 billion from AI, and $4.1 billion from Space, with a market cap of roughly $2,017.2 billion. Starlink is its main revenue driver and its only division reporting an operating profit. Seagate makes about $12.2 billion from storage solutions and has a market cap of roughly $145.3 billion.
