  • Must demonstrate familiarity with FAA organizations, modernization environments, operational stakeholders, and the realities of working inside or alongside the National Airspace System.
  • Must have experience in stakeholder-facing roles requiring relationship management, issue triage, and cross-functional coordination across technical, operational, and executive groups.
  • Must be able to understand and discuss the technical and operational implications of modernization activities, even without serving as the lead engineer or architect.
  • Must be able to translate complex technical, operational, and programmatic issues into clear written and verbal communication for varied audiences.

  • Must have the organizational discipline to manage multiple issue threads, stakeholder relationships, and action items simultaneously.
  • Must be able to identify emerging risks, ambiguity, and coordination breakdowns and help drive a timely response.
  • Must have experience preparing executive summaries, stakeholder briefings, issue papers, or decision-support materials in fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support leadership in navigating FAA organizational dynamics, field sensitivities, and modernization-related stakeholder challenges.
  • Serve as a primary liaison across FAA program offices, ATO and field stakeholders, Peraton leadership, and engineering teams supporting BNATCS modernization activities.
  • Triage FAA relationship issues, stakeholder friction, and communication breakdowns before they become execution or leadership problems.
  • Coordinate across FAA and Peraton organizations when responsibilities, timing, expectations, or communication channels are unclear.

  • Facilitate working sessions, issue reviews, and stakeholder engagement activities that clarify roles, dependencies, priorities, and next steps.
  • Assist with ATO- and field-facing coordination for site visits, implementation planning, stakeholder awareness, and readiness-related communications.
  • Track stakeholder concerns, commitments, and emerging issues across multiple threads and ensure disciplined follow-through to closure.
  • Support executive and working-level briefings, issue summaries, white papers, and engagement materials tailored to different FAA and Peraton audiences.
  • Design more repeatable communication and coordination mechanisms that can scale as BNATCS expands across organizations and field activity.
  • Organize issues, frame tradeoffs, identify dependencies, and help leaders move from discussion to aligned action.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting FAA modernization, NAS transformation, ATO operations, Engineering Services, Tech Ops, or comparable aviation-related federal efforts.
  • Working familiarity with FAA program structures, field coordination challenges, and interactions between headquarters, program offices, and operational stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting site-readiness, field coordination, implementation planning, or stakeholder engagement tied to technical deployment efforts.
  • A background in systems engineering, air traffic operations, aviation systems, program management, or another discipline supporting credibility in a technically grounded FAA environment.
  • Familiarity with FAA safety, certification, governance, or program control processes.
  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments using tools such as Jira and Confluence.

About the Company

Peraton

Runs and secures technology for federal agencies

Peraton builds and runs secure technology for American defense, intelligence, space, and civilian agencies, from military networks to satellite ground stations. In 2025, the Federal Aviation Administration chose it to manage the overhaul of the nation's air traffic control system, replacing copper wiring with fiber and upgrading radar and radios. Its engineers, many holding security clearances, run and defend agency networks and data centers, write mission software, and operate space and communications systems, and agencies pay for this work through multiyear contracts. Peraton was formed in 2017, when private-equity firm Veritas Capital bought Harris Corporation's government IT business, and is based in Reston, Virginia.
