About the company

Federal IT Consulting runs cybersecurity, IT and engineering projects for the Department of Defense, other national security agencies and civilian federal departments. Beyond securing and operating classified and unclassified networks, it builds mission software and mobile apps, moves systems to the cloud and supports health IT such as the Military Health System. A separate engineering practice manages energy savings, construction programs and environmental compliance at military bases. Agencies buy its services through government contract vehicles and task orders, with cleared staff working at government sites, its regional offices or remotely. It was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Rockville, Maryland.

What believers are saying

  • Multi-year work landed: a Defense Finance and Accounting Service task order signed January 2026 is worth up to $64.1 million.
  • Cleared experts work remotely: FEDITC's U.S.-remote IT Subject Matter Expert role, requiring active Secret clearance, pays $100,000-$175,000 in Illinois.
  • Retirement savings get a match: FEDITC's Fort Drum, New York Resource Efficiency Manager posting lists a 401(k) with 4% match.

What critics are saying

  • Some openings depend on bids: FEDITC's Fort Leonard Wood Electronics Technician I posting is contingent on a contract award.
  • Clearance gates entry: FEDITC's on-site Indianapolis senior cybersecurity analyst role for defense finance networks requires active Top Secret clearance.
  • After-hours duty applies: FEDITC's Springfield, Virginia Network Engineer supporting Homeland Security must accept night change work and on-call rotation.

What makes Federal IT Consulting unique

  • Some awards come through a partner: FEDITC lists direct awards via a Native Hawaiian-owned small-business joint venture with JBW Federal.
  • Classified access comes packaged: FEDITC catalogs SecureView kits that reach three secure enclaves from one computer using NSA-approved designs.
