Requirements
  • A college degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing with supervisory experience is required.
  • Three to five years of experience with statistics is required.
  • Experience with quality systems, preferably ISO 9001, is required.
  • Experience with Six Sigma or other analysis methods is preferred.
  • Advanced-level computer skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect during the manufacturing process, monitor production quality, and ensure each bus is built properly according to specifications.
  • Examine materials for quality and identify defects, while ensuring people, equipment, and materials are used properly to maximize productivity.
  • Check bus parts, assemblies, and manufacturing processes against drawing specifications.
  • Document problems and errors in drawings, bills of materials, jigs, equipment, and processes, and report them to the appropriate department for correction.
  • Maintain the documented list of problems and follow up on open items until they are fixed and closed.
  • Ensure the quality of manufactured products.
  • Examine supplier materials before sending them to the production line.
  • Inspect components, subassemblies, assemblies, and completed buses.
  • Test, measure, and analyze products.
  • Record pass/fail grades of products.
  • Produce detailed inspection reports.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to departments or processes to eliminate the root causes of quality issues.
  • Manage all employees of the quality department and handle performance management and hiring for those employees.
  • Travel as required to fulfill job duties.
