Easterseals Disability & Community Services

Disability services, employment support, day programs

Easterseals Northeast Indiana provides disability services across the region, helping people with disabilities participate in the community and find work. Its offerings include employment support, day programs, and other community-based services that are tailored to individual needs. The organization started in 1954 as a parent-led effort called the Johnny Appleseed School and grew over the years through partnerships with Easterseals and The Arc. In 2020 and 2021, it merged with RISE Inc. and Passages Inc. to expand its reach and services, and in January 2025 it unified under the Easterseals Northeast Indiana name. The company differentiates itself through its regional network and long-standing ties to national disability service organizations, plus the ability to integrate multiple local programs into a single system of services.
