Clinical Pathways Coordinator

General Purpose of Job:

The Clinical Pathways Coordinator supports the development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of evidence-based clinical pathways across the Driscoll Health System. This role serves as a key operational partner to physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing leaders, informatics, and quality teams to ensure pathways are current, measurable, and integrated into clinical workflows. The coordinator manages pathway governance processes, tracks performance metrics, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to drive standardized, high-quality, and equitable pediatric care. Responsible for managing a specified set of documents (policies, procedures, guidelines, clinical pathways, order sets, care pathways, clinical practice guidelines, protocols, and plans) in accordance with organizational requirements. The activities related to document control include but are not limited to: maintenance of electronic directories, distribution and auditing of controlled documents; and tracking and reporting on document review progress. Maintains archival activities for controlled documents. Works with subject matter experts in a collaborative manner to prepare controlled documents, which conform to a defined organizational format. Review, proof and edit documents for consistency of format, clinical appropriateness, and compliance with organization requirements. Works with Decision Support to build a dashboard for the clinical pathways efforts within Driscoll Health System.

• Clinical Pathway Development & Coordination
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary clinical stakeholder groups to research, prioritize, develop, review, and publish Clinical Pathway products that support accessible, clear, and evidence-based pediatric care across the health system.
  • Coordinates the lifecycle of Clinical Pathway products from initial development through approval, publication, scheduled review, revision, and retirement.
  • Ensures Clinical Pathway products conform to applicable regulatory, accreditation, organizational, and best-practice requirements.
  • Attends key stakeholder and governance meetings to support clinical discussion, incorporate feedback, and facilitate timely document edits and revisions.
• Document Preparation, Review & Governance
  • Prepares Clinical Pathway documents for formal review and approval processes, including:
  • Converts content into standardized organizational templates.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts to edit content for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with current evidence and standards.
  • Tracks documents from initial draft through final approval to ensure timely completion.
  • Proofreads Clinical Pathway documents for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and conformity with organizational documentation standards.
  • Tracks review and expiration dates for Clinical Pathway documents to ensure compliance with established review cycles.
  • Notifies document owners and stakeholders of upcoming, due, or overdue review and approval deadlines.
  • Prepares and distributes reports on document workflow status, review compliance, completion, and approval progress.
• Clinical Pathway Content Management & System Administration
  • Maintains the electronic organizational document repository for all approved Clinical Pathway products.
  • Organizes and structures the Clinical Pathway site to ensure intuitive access and ease of use for clinical and operational staff.
  • Ensures the most current, approved versions of all Clinical Pathway documents are available and visible online.
  • Maintains an archival system for retired or superseded Clinical Pathway documents in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Provides guidance and support to staff across the organization in accessing, navigating, and using Clinical Pathway documents and tools.
• Data Tracking, Reporting & Program Performance
  • Partners with Decision Support to develop and maintain dashboards supporting the Clinical Pathway Program.
• Program Support & Accountability
  • Supports overall accountability for the Clinical Pathway Program by ensuring timely document reviews, accurate publication, accessible access, and adherence to established program standards.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance pathway processes, usability, and program effectiveness.

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working in a pediatric, academic, or complex healthcare environment preferred.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clinicians and non-clinical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and collaboration tools.
