Requirements
  • A technical background in Electrical or Systems Engineering is required.
  • Previous experience with detailed design and implementation of electrical circuits, software, and firmware is required.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills are required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science is required.
  • Relevant experience requirements depend on level: 14+ years for Senior Professional or 5+ years for Advanced Professional.
  • Employees must be eligible to obtain a government security clearance.
  • Employees must participate in the ARL drug testing program and comply with electronic and physical monitoring requirements applicable to federal contractors.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
Responsibilities
  • Interface with project stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure project success.
  • Work closely with senior engineers and subject matter experts.
  • Define system control and data architectures.
  • Perform systems engineering activities spanning the typical DoD product development lifecycle.
  • Travel for stakeholder engagements as needed.
  • For the higher-level position, indirectly supervise and mentor other engineers.
  • For the higher-level position, monitor and track funding and budgets.
  • For the higher-level position, work independently on moderately complex assignments, review progress, and evaluate results.
  • For the higher-level position, communicate with external audiences for scheduling and coordination.
  • For the higher-level position, communicate with external audiences for business purposes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with controls, simulation, and hardware-in-the-loop test set development and operation.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical design, simulation, and testing.
  • Experience working with standard laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes and function generators.
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering training and experience.
  • Systems engineering fundamentals and project management.
  • Experience contributing as a team player.
  • Current eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret level or higher, with possible background investigation to upgrade clearance eligibility if required.
