About the Company

TREK

Designs, manufactures, and markets high-end bicycles

Trek Bicycle Corporation designs and builds high-end bicycles in the United States, including road, mountain, touring, and off-road bikes. Its products start as frames and complete bikes manufactured at its facilities, leveraging in-house R&D and technologies like OCLV carbon fiber. The company grows products and brands through strategic acquisitions (Gary Fisher Mountain Bikes, Klein, Bontrager) to cover different segments and markets. Unlike many peers, Trek remains privately owned by the Burke family, allowing a long-term focus on product development and market presence rather than short-term shareholder returns. The company’s goal is to produce durable, performance-oriented bicycles across categories while expanding its leadership in the bicycle industry and maintaining U.S. manufacturing and innovation.
