Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, Nursing, Pharmacy, or another relevant healthcare discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Medical Coder within a hospital, healthcare facility, or occupational health clinic is required.
  • Valid AAPC certification, such as CPC, is mandatory.
  • Certification in ICD-10-AM medical coding is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • Infection Control certification is required.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE health insurance regulations and claims processes is required.
  • Hands-on experience with eClaimLink, Daman, Thiqa, and other Abu Dhabi insurance platforms is required.
  • Experience using Electronic Health Record or Electronic Medical Record systems is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook, is required.
  • The candidate must be able to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Responsibilities
  • Assign accurate medical codes using ICD-10-AM, Current Procedural Terminology, and other applicable healthcare coding standards.
  • Prepare, submit, monitor, and follow up on insurance claims through eClaimLink, Daman, Thiqa, and other approved Abu Dhabi insurance providers.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies regarding claim approvals, rejections, resubmissions, and reimbursement status.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical billing records and Electronic Health Records.
  • Liaise with physicians, nurses, reception staff, and other clinic personnel to ensure complete and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Review documentation to ensure coding accuracy and compliance with insurance requirements.
  • Assist in applying for insurance network participation when required.
  • Generate periodic medical coding, billing, insurance, and operational reports for clinic leadership and the Corporate HSE, HR, and Finance Departments.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, UAE Ministry of Health, NRC/IAEA requirements where applicable, internal corporate policies, and healthcare protocols.
  • Support internal quality audits and external regulatory inspections by maintaining accurate documentation and records.
  • Identify coding and billing discrepancies and recommend corrective actions to improve claim acceptance and revenue cycle efficiency.
  • Maintain professional, confidential, and ethical conduct.
