Requirements
  • A state of Idaho license as a CMA, LPN, or RN.
  • At least two years of experience in a family practice setting.
  • At least one year of experience as a supervisor.
  • Advanced, specialized nursing skills appropriate to a family practice clinic.
  • Knowledge of the day-to-day needs of patients in a family practice setting.
  • Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements and standards.
  • Ability to provide professional guidance, instruction, and leadership to nursing and related patient care staff.
  • Proficiency working in electronic health record systems, preferably NextGen.
  • Organizing and coordinating skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to coordinate and promote quality assurance initiatives within a clinic setting.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Employees must complete required training, participate in emergency response tasks and safety committees as requested, maintain a safe working environment, follow instructions, report or correct hazards, and provide feedback on safety issues.
  • Employees must follow accurate documentation and billing practices, participate in compliance training, and report compliance concerns.
  • Employees must read and understand applicable operational, safety, and environmental plans, procedures, and policies.
  • The position requires handling objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four hours per day, and following extensive safety precautions when exposed to potentially dangerous materials or situations.
Responsibilities
  • Schedule, lead, and coordinate the day-to-day activities of clinic nursing support staff to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, Family Health Services policies, and accepted nursing protocols and procedures.
  • Coordinate services with other Family Health Services departments and provide direct nursing services and patient care as appropriate.
  • Assist the Medical Director, Director of Nursing, and Director of Clinic Operations in ensuring appropriateness and quality of care for patient scheduling, flow and triage; medical equipment ordering, maintenance and inspection; provider scheduling; medical supply inventory; ancillary patient services; and clinical support staff scheduling.
  • Provide patient triage.
  • Assist Administration with the appropriateness and quality of care related to facility cleaning, maintenance, equipment, and operations.
  • Monitor and coordinate daily patient care activities, and schedule staff and patients to ensure full coverage of patient care needs and effective patient services.
  • Lead, guide, supervise, and train employees performing related work.
  • Resolve conflicts within nursing staff or between nursing staff and other clinical staff, involving others as needed.
  • Monitor employee performance, identify areas needing improvement, and work with the Director of Nursing and HR Director to formally address performance issues.
  • Participate in annual evaluations of nursing staff.
  • Coordinate services with other departments and maintain communication with community liaisons as appropriate.
  • Oversee clinic quality assurance activities and compliance with operational standards.
  • Participate in program development and in developing and implementing operating policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies, and promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Remain current with primary health care practice standards.
  • Perform other functions required for clinic operations.
  • Participate in the Patient Centered Medical Home process as an active and willing team member, with duties and expectations varying by position and site.
  • Complete Medicare compliance training, sign a Conflict of Interest Statement at hire and annually thereafter, and follow applicable compliance standards.
