Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a distribution center, with emphasis on equipment operation, material handling, shipping and receiving, and shag truck operation.
  • An overall understanding of distribution center processes.
  • The ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions, and acquire basic mathematical skills.
  • Above-average communication skills, typically using a radio.
  • Experience working in a challenging environment and managing stressful situations while maintaining company guidelines.
  • Experience with material-handling equipment.
  • Organizational skills.
  • A current valid driver's license.
  • Experience with yard switching and/or tractor-trailer operation.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand and use basic hand tools.
  • The ability to work the assigned shift and flexibility to work all shifts, including weekends, when necessary.
  • The ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, lift or move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, and meet the specified close-vision requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain required safety and ergonomic processes to support a safe working environment and the company's injury-free workplace goal.
  • Follow safe work practices and good manufacturing practices, maintain sanitary conditions, and preserve product quality; report conditions that could affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
  • Perform daily maintenance checks and equipment inspections of the shag truck as required by United States Department of Transportation rules and regulations, and submit written documentation to the supervisor.
  • Perform daily yard checks for loaded and empty trailers as directed.
  • Store product at the appropriate temperature according to company guidelines.
  • Move and spot all trailers as directed, placing the correct trailers at the correct docks.
  • Keep equipment clean and orderly and assist with general housekeeping to maintain food-safety standards.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trailers on the dock as time permits.
  • Facilitate and assist with the optimal flow of trailers and materials into and out of the distribution center.
  • Contact the immediate supervisor to manage conflicts that may occur.
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Work independently and accurately under limited supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Searching for a turnaround product, he began making beef jerky using a family recipe. Link Snacks now generates over $1.6 billion in annual retail sales, according to Nielsen IQ data. The family-owned company operates eight brands including Jack Link's and Lorissa's Organic Snacks in a US market worth more than $5 billion. The business expanded by acquiring regional competitors and later purchased Unilever's meat snacks division in 2014. In 2025, it opened a $450 million manufacturing facility in Georgia. Chief executive Troy Link, who succeeded his father in 2013, faces rising beef prices driven partly by tariffs. Link Snacks, the company behind Jack Link's meat snacks, has grown from a family bankruptcy into a roughly $4 billion global protein empire. CEO Troy Link, second-generation leader, shared the company's journey on the How Success Happens podcast. The business began when Troy's father turned a failing meat operation into jerky production, using existing assets: thousands of pounds of meat, smokehouses and knowledge. Troy attributes success to focus, grit and maintaining hospital-level cleanliness, which allows products with as few as three ingredients. Recently, the company made significant investments including a $450 million plant, German expansion and major automation across facilities.
