About the company

METECS is a Houston-based engineering-services firm that creates custom simulation software for training, engineering analysis, robotics, and automation. Its team develops software that lets users build and run realistic simulations with advanced 3D graphics, multibody dynamics, and accurate contact dynamics to model how systems move and interact. The programs are used for training personnel, analyzing performance, and designing automated and robotic systems, with a focus on orchestration to coordinate multiple simulation components. METECS differentiates itself through deep expertise in simulation, 3D graphics, and robotics—drawn from proximity to NASA’s Johnson Space Center—and by offering a small, highly qualified team that delivers tailored, efficient solutions. The company’s goal is to help clients understand, test, and optimize complex systems through reliable, customized simulation tools.

What believers are saying

  • METECS expanded offices and opened a new All Hands room in 2022.
  • Artemis II reached orbit in April 2026, validating METECS mission support.
  • Company news through August 2026 shows contract wins, no layoffs, and active growth.

What critics are saying

  • NASA concentration leaves revenue exposed if SASS II underperforms before 2030.
  • Artemis II schedules tie hiring and utilization to one mission timeline.
  • Any NASA rebid loss would crater METECS's core engineering franchise.

What makes METECS unique

  • NASA awarded METECS the $150M SASS II contract in July 2025.
  • METECS supports Artemis II flight software, V&V testing, mission simulation, and crew training.
  • Its simulation stack spans robotics, biomechanics, guidance, and human-in-the-loop systems.
