About the job

Requirements
  • 1–3 years of product management experience on grid-connected distributed energy resources software, embedded systems, or industrial control systems; alternatively, 2–4 years in a related technical role such as technical program management, applications engineering, project engineering, commissioning or controls engineering, or NOC/fleet operations, with a clear interest in moving into product.
  • Hands-on exposure to software that communicates with physical hardware and understanding of the reliability, latency, and integration challenges involved.
  • Working knowledge of device communication and messaging protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, or NATS, or experience integrating third-party hardware vendors with differing APIs, firmware versions, and data formats.
  • A solid technical foundation in distributed systems, edge computing, or IoT, including reasoning about site-to-cloud architectures, data buffering, retries, and failure modes, and comfort reading API specifications and telemetry data.
Responsibilities
  • Drive OEM integrations across battery energy storage system manufacturers and meters, including telemetry ingestion, alarm management, and complex multi-device site topologies and configuration across the fleet.
  • Own features on the fleet telemetry and real-time controls roadmap from requirements through release, including device integration, OEM protocol translation such as Modbus and DNP3, and real-time safety logic.
  • Own end-to-end requirements for the dispatch path from the cloud optimizer to the site.
  • Partner with engineering and data science teams to own optimization engine decisions from the cloud to the device and back, and design system recovery when any link in that chain fails.
  • Write technical product requirements documents, test plans, and scenario write-ups that engineers, operators, and customers can act on.
  • Take features and the platform to general availability, covering deployment, customer and site network scheduling, rollback plans, and results reporting.
  • Track dispatch health, including schedule adherence, state-of-charge drift, command-to-confirmation latency, uptime, and alarm volume, and use it to prioritize reliability work.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with optimization and forecasting concepts, or AI data center requirements such as load smoothing and low-voltage ride-through.
  • Background in site commissioning, field operations, or NOC workflows, including experience bringing a site online and keeping it running.
  • Familiarity with how large data center loads participate in PJM or other wholesale markets, including large-load interconnection, capacity markets, demand response, and flexible-load commitments.
  • Familiarity with AVEVA/OSIsoft PI, utility SCADA integration, or market access provider APIs such as Enel or PJM for grid services dispatch.
  • A technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a similar field, or equivalent hands-on experience with control systems.

About the company

VerSe Innovation builds and runs localized Indian digital content platforms. It operates Dailyhunt, a news and content aggregator in over 14 Indian languages, drawing from more than 3,000 content partners to deliver personalized feeds to hundreds of millions of users. It also runs Josh, a short-video app available in 12 regional languages that lets users create and share videos and participate in challenges. The company monetizes through advertisements and is expanding into AI-powered AdTech (NexVerse.ai) and creator tools (VerSe Collab) to boost engagement and revenue. Dailyhunt and Josh differ from many competitors by focusing on vernacular content and a large non-English audience, supported by proprietary AI that personalizes content and optimizes ad delivery. VerSe’s goal is to strengthen its position as a leading vernacular digital media platform in India, scaling advertising, e-commerce, live streaming, and creator-driven monetization.
