American Family to acquire Bowhead Specialty for $1.2B

American Family Mutual Insurance Company has agreed to acquire all outstanding shares of Bowhead Specialty Holdings it does not currently own for $34.00 per share in cash, valuing the transaction at approximately $1.2 billion. Bowhead is a growing specialty insurance business providing casualty, professional liability, and healthcare liability insurance products. The acquisition aims to diversify American Family's commercial portfolio and drive sustainable profitable growth. The transaction is expected to close before the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and Bowhead stockholder approval.
