Requirements
  • Two to three years of experience designing electronic systems and/or fire alarm systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Strong working knowledge of the National Fire Protection Association, National Electrical Code, International Building Code, International Fire Code, International Mechanical Code, and related codes.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of general construction practices and terminology.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
  • A valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Design fire alarm, access control, security, and nurse call systems in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and Authority Having Jurisdiction requirements.
  • Create shop drawing plans for a wide range of low voltage systems using AutoCAD and design software.
  • Analyze blueprints and survey existing structures to support accurate system design.
  • Coordinate technical submittals with architects, engineers, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Perform site visits as required.
  • Maintain communication with technical representatives and sales personnel.
  • Produce Operations and Maintenance manuals and as-built drawings for installed systems.
Desired Qualifications
  • NICET Certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology – Fire Alarm Systems.
