Requirements
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in audiovisual, security, access control, or infrastructure cabling.
  • Verifiable experience leading a project team and reporting to a foreman or project manager.
  • Basic hand tools required to perform project work.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with industry tools and equipment.
  • Ability to review drawings, blueprints, and customer-related documents to manage projects.
  • Ability to travel as needed for assigned customer accounts.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
  • Problem-solving ability with mathematical and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle the physical workload associated with daily responsibilities.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and out of town.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee complete installations as directed by the field superintendent or project manager.
  • Lead and direct technicians.
  • Execute project plans while maintaining quality assurance and schedule.
  • Conduct daily prework site walks and safety toolbox talks.
  • Understand blueprints, schematics, and line diagrams.
  • Wire security devices and panels, including card readers, door contacts, electrified locks, and head-end panel terminations.
  • Install, aim, and focus full closed-circuit television solutions.
  • Apply troubleshooting philosophies and procedures.
  • Record notes and pictures to support daily progress reports.
  • Plan and install network infrastructure, including category cable, fiber, and coaxial cable.
  • Install support and pathway structures, including ladder racks, J-hooks, cable trays, racks, cabinets, and fire penetrations.
  • Organize and dress backbones and closets and apply labeling schemes.
  • Test cable and fiber.
  • Apply commissioning and tuning philosophies for security, audio, visual, and infrastructure cabling.
  • Apply current ANSI/TIA/EIA telecommunications standards, including 568, 559, and 606, as well as applicable manufacturer standards and National Electrical Code requirements.
  • Perform rack-and-stack and closet work, including assembling server racks and patch panels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
