Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, or an associate degree in a healthcare field with three years of healthcare supervisory experience.
  • Three years of relevant healthcare experience.
  • Assertiveness and diplomacy skills.
  • Ability to access community and system resources.
  • Good written and verbal skills, effective interpersonal communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analysis and research skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and other software to collect, analyze, and present data.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the organization's quality and safety programs on a day-to-day basis.
  • Develop and manage quality and safety programs that exceed the standards and expectations of patients, the Board of Directors, payors, and other relevant entities.
  • Oversee nursing services policies, protocols, and educational initiatives.
  • Oversee performance improvement activities, regulatory compliance, and initiatives that support effective clinical resource utilization and improvements in quality.
  • Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork to support excellence in patient-centered care.
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality activities and monitor organization-wide quality indicators.
  • Develop and implement mechanisms for ongoing data collection, analysis, and reporting of quality indicators.
  • Initiate mechanisms to ensure timely and accurate reporting of data and relay quality reports to appropriate leadership teams and committees.
  • Develop performance improvement initiatives throughout the institution and support sustained performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support resource utilization and quality improvement, develop educational opportunities for staff, and oversee policies and protocols for ambulatory offices.
  • Perform administrative functions for the Quality and Nursing department, including budget preparation and management, planning, office organization, and other management functions.
  • Assist with employee health functions for the organization.
  • Participate in selecting and hiring qualified individuals and evaluate employee effectiveness on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide ongoing performance reviews with objective and constructive feedback, including departmental plans for each employee.
  • Coach and counsel employees to correct performance deficiencies by developing goal-oriented plans and providing follow-up.
  • Assist the Director with patient incident reports requiring root cause analysis or further follow-up and implement improvement initiatives to sustain high-quality outcomes.
  • Assist the Director in developing and monitoring short-term goals and long-range plans for the department.
  • Assist with oversight of quality assurance reports for ambulatory offices and follow up with offices needing additional assistance with quality assurance programs.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, forms, policies and protocols, work orders, and specialized departmental documents, and proofread materials for accuracy, completeness, compliance, formatting, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping during the work shift.

  • Five years of healthcare quality, nursing, education, and/or supervisory experience.
