About the job

Requirements
  • A meaningful background in chemistry, materials science, biology, chemical engineering, or a closely related field, sufficient to engage credibly with PhD-level researchers about experimental workflows and data.
  • Demonstrated ability to work through complex, real-world data environments and design structured solutions through implementation experience, scientific data management, or equivalent technical problem-solving.
  • Comfort working with scientific or technical software such as electronic lab notebooks, laboratory information management systems, instrument software, or data analysis tools.
  • Ability to explain complex ideas clearly to varied audiences and build others' capability.
  • Comfort managing multiple partner relationships and implementation workstreams simultaneously while maintaining quality.
  • Ability to build programs and processes from scratch, navigate ambiguity, and drive outcomes autonomously.
Responsibilities
  • Own quality assurance across partner-delivered implementations and serve as the final authority on whether configurations meet Uncountable's standards before go-live.
  • Stay involved in active partner implementations by reviewing data structures, attending key customer milestones, and course-correcting when needed.
  • Monitor implementation health across the partner portfolio, identify risks early, and drive resolution.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for certified delivery partners facing complex scientific data environments, edge-case configurations, or ambiguous customer requirements.
  • Guide partners through challenging implementations by answering technical and scientific questions, reviewing proposed configurations, and helping assess trade-offs.
  • Build trusted relationships with partner teams so they can deploy Uncountable confidently and independently.
  • Lead or co-lead implementations for strategic accounts and configure the platform to capture each customer's experimental paradigm accurately.
  • Map complex scientific data structures, including multi-variable formulations, hierarchical sample relationships, and linked test methods, onto Uncountable's data model.

Desired Qualifications
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, biology, or a closely related field, plus 2–3 years of post-degree experience in implementation, technical consulting, or scientific data management.
  • Prior experience in a partner-facing, channel, or ecosystems role, or in building training and enablement programs in a technical context.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience running experiments.
  • Familiarity with data management concepts such as structured spreadsheets, databases, electronic lab notebooks, or laboratory information management systems.
  • Exposure to multiple scientific domains, such as organic chemistry and polymer science, or biotechnology and formulation.

Uncountable launches Regulatory Management capability, moving ingredient checks into the formulation workflow.

Uncountable launches Regulatory Management capability, moving ingredient checks into the formulation workflow. Uncountable, the AI platform for end-to-end product development, has launched Regulatory Management, a new regulatory compliance capability for formulation teams across food and beverage, cosmetics, specialty chemicals, and advanced materials industries. Regulatory Management checks recipes against ingredient regulations within the product development platform, rather than in a separate system after formulation work is complete. Every recipe ingredient shows a pass or fail for each intended market, alerting formulators to potential compliance problems early in the product development process. "For decades the rulebook moved slowly enough that you could check compliance of the finished product and be fine. That assumption has stopped holding," said Noel Hollingsworth, CEO and Co-Founder, Uncountable. "We think compliance belongs alongside formulation rather than in a review that happens afterward, and the software that people work with every day should reflect that." The Uncountable platform unifies ELN, LIMS, PLM, and Quality in a single structured data model, supporting product development from early R&D through pilot and production. The Regulatory Management capability operates within this system, showing pass or fail status for every recipe ingredient in each target market, with the jurisdiction, product category, permitted level, link to the official source, and date it was last checked. Uncountable maintains its own regulations database using official sources, so customer teams do not need to update regulations manually. Uncountable's Regulatory Management is more than a check against a banned-ingredients list. Regulatory limits are matched to the formulation's product category rather than to the ingredient alone because permitted levels can vary by application. Regulatory teams can override or edit any determination to match how their organization interprets a provision, and scheduled regulatory refreshes will not overwrite their edits. "The database was never the hard part. Making the answer defensible was," said Brenda Jaroker, Product Manager, Uncountable. "Every ingredient row carries its citation and a link to the register it came from, so a regulatory manager can check our work instead of taking it on faith. And where their interpretation of a rule differs from ours, we allow customer admins to override certain checks." A failing result can be configured to prevent a recipe from being locked or published, keeping regulatory issues from moving downstream unnoticed. Catching problems early matters because replacing a color or preservative can affect a product's stability, shelf life, and manufacturing process. When ingredient regulatory screening happens in a separate system after formulation is complete, it is too late for the results to shape formulation decisions. In contrast, Uncountable's Regulatory Management capability brings regulatory checks into the formulation workflow, giving teams visibility into requirements for each target market while recipes are being developed.

Uncountable launches regulatory management for formulation teams to check ingredient compliance during product development

Uncountable has launched Regulatory Management, a new compliance capability that checks recipe ingredients against regulations during formulation rather than after completion. The AI platform serves food and beverage, cosmetics, specialty chemicals, and advanced materials industries. The feature displays pass or fail status for each ingredient in target markets, showing jurisdiction, product category, permitted levels, and official sources. Uncountable maintains its own regulations database from official sources, eliminating manual updates. The system matches regulatory limits to specific product categories, as permitted levels vary by application. Regulatory teams can override determinations to align with their organisation's interpretation, and scheduled refreshes preserve these customisations. Failing results can prevent recipes from being locked or published, catching compliance issues before they affect downstream processes. The San Francisco-based company, founded in 2016, unifies ELN, LIMS, PLM, and quality management systems on a single data model.

Uncountable hosts AI innovation summit. May 22, 2026 Uncountable hosted its Unify Summit 2026, a two-day customer event focused on AI-powered product development, formulation workflows and R&D collaboration. The summit took place May 13-14 in Philadelphia and brought together 100 attendees from companies in chemicals, advanced materials, food and beverage, electronics, cosmetics and personal care, agriculture and consumer packaged goods. According to Uncountable, companies represented at the summit included Mondelez International, Suntory Global Spirits, Qnity and Lubrizol. The company said the event reflected growing demand for faster product development workflows across industries. Uncountable's AI-powered platform captures, structures and connects formulation and experimental data across product lifecycles. The platform is designed to help teams standardize data, improve collaboration and gain visibility from early research through pilot and production. "Uncountable's platform has changed how our R&D teams approach formulation and experimentation," said Robert Ddamulira, vice president R&D, Taylor Adhesives/Avery Dennison. "Being part of the Unify Summit and hearing how peers across industries are solving the same challenges reinforced how transformative this technology is. We're excited about what's ahead." The summit included client presentations, product breakout sessions and networking opportunities. Day 1 featured remarks from Noel Hollingsworth, co-founder and CEO of Uncountable, followed by presentations from engineers and R&D leaders at Rogers Corporation, Taylor Adhesives/Avery Dennison Materials Group and Indovinya. Will Tashman, co-founder and chief customer officer, also discussed the company's AI roadmap. Across both days, attendees participated in breakout sessions covering machine learning-driven design of experiments, integrated laboratory and workflow management tools, quality and lifecycle management systems, advanced data visualization and reporting, change management and platform adoption. "The Summit was a valuable opportunity to hear directly from customers, gather feedback on our latest capabilities, and shape a product roadmap that continues to evolve with the needs of different industries," Tashman said. Uncountable is a software company developing an AI platform for end-to-end product development. The company serves product organizations across chemicals, advanced materials, consumer goods, food and agriculture, and pharmaceuticals. Looking for a reprint of this article?
