Role Summary
We are looking for a technical and systems-minded Platform Product Manager to join our Foundations team to modernize the Splunk Platform. As Product Manager for the Frameworks area, you will be responsible for driving impactful, ground-breaking change of how we build and deliver within the core of Splunk, as well delivering customer-facing features.
We are on a journey to significantly scale and enable faster innovation through the use of modern software practices, durable release strategies, and customer programs. These efforts will make it easier for our teams, partners and customers to build on and extend the core product offering. The goal of the Framework team is to help provide a more modular, resilient, and observable platform. It enables developers to achieve higher quality and velocity, and build things in more repeatable ways. You will collaborate closely with architects and geographically distributed engineering teams on crafting the future of the Splunk platform, and build an integrated roadmap for multiple teams. You will incorporate requirements into a durable framework for how we deliver changes in the core platform.
Success will be measured by your ability to define the team’s vision, influence others and to build/direct your teams as part of our overall platform strategy. You are a leader with a demonstrated history of driving cross-functional change and willing to challenge the status quo.

What you’ll get to do
- Define the vision for our onward evolution of product architecture and how we scale
- Design thoughtful customer programs and release strategies that enable faster customer adoption and engineering velocity
- Drive the roadmap to modernize key platform components, libraries, and technologies
- Engage with external and internal customers (e.g. development and product teams) regularly to obtain feedback and validate value proposition
- Partner with sales & marketing, legal, documentation and support to increase adoption and communicate the value of our strategy
Must-have Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in product management or technical product management role
- Experience in driving platform wide architectural changes and long term release strategies
- Ability to bridge technical software and systems engineering concepts into clear and compelling value when external customer outcomes is indirect
- Curious about distributed, enterprise-scale systems and modern architecture
- Comfortable with ambiguous or constantly shifting requirements, helping teams to form the strategic direction
- You love getting into the nitty-gritty details of technical infrastructure and solving for both customer value and cost
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams handle various dependencies to your core team
- A proven track record to do both tactical work and set an overall strategy —seeing beyond the data to anticipate the next step or question
- Ability to present complex technical features into simple concepts and motivate action

- Knowledge of microservice-based architecture primitives and operating systems
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g. EE, CS); MBA or similar degree highly preferred

Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $159,200.00 - 218,900.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $143,280.00 - 197,010.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $127,360.00 - 175,120.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
