Requirements
  • A Master's degree or Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance, or a Master's degree with eighteen graduate hours in Dance, is required.
  • Ability to work successfully in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to analyze information, problems, situations, practices, and procedures; interpret data; reason logically; establish facts; identify issues; draw valid conclusions; develop recommendations; and evaluate outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Plans, organizes, and delivers instruction in didactic, laboratory, and classroom settings to promote student success in a community college setting.
  • Supports college and departmental missions through quality instruction, curriculum enhancement, and timely service.
  • Collaborates with the Director, faculty, and peers to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum that cultivates mastery of course content.
  • Demonstrates technological literacy and innovation in delivering instruction.
  • Collaborates as part of an academic team.
  • Assists with implementing college policies, objectives, functions, strategic initiatives, and procedures.
  • Participates in departmental meetings and collegewide committees as needed.
  • Provides students with frequent, timely assessment and clear feedback about academic performance.
  • Documents student progress and maintains records including attendance, grading, and student learning outcomes.
  • Develops methods to fairly and accurately assess student progress toward stated learning outcomes and objectives.
  • Maintains office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment.
  • Protects the privacy and security of student records and sensitive information in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Complies with college rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws governing public employees, including document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Provides courteous, informed, accessible, and professional service engagement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
