Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Social Work or enrollment in a Master of Social Work program.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use the Internet.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proof of completed mandated-reporter training on recognizing and reporting child abuse that meets the training standards of Pennsylvania Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment, with recurrent training every five years thereafter.
  • Completion of the child-protection clearances required by Pennsylvania Act 153, including a Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Record Check.
  • Understanding of and support for The Salvation Army's mission and the Sanctuary Model.
Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance in all aspects of case management, including technical assistance in Client Track and facilitation of the Clinical Team and SELF group.
  • Conduct client assessments and develop service plans.
  • Maintain regular contact with families to assess progress and needs.
  • Provide guidance and counseling to clients as needed.
  • Make referrals to social services not provided at the shelter.
  • Prepare housing applications.
  • Document resident progress and services.
  • Ensure completion of required forms.
  • Consult with staff.
  • Complete all Client Track data input for residents.
  • Support communication and consistent programming across both sites as a member of the Leadership Team.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to respond to shelter-program emergencies.
