Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to read and write and perform basic four-function math is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire.
  • Seasonal influenza vaccination is required as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide basic care activities and attend to patients' personal needs, comfort, and safety under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Perform trained technical, therapeutic, administrative, and procedural tasks as a multi-skilled caregiver, maintaining responsibility for the quality of one's work and flexibility as needs change.
  • Measure vital signs, height and weight, and oxygen saturation.
  • Report unusual observations to the nurse.
  • Collect specimens for analysis.
  • Record and measure patient intake and output.
  • Provide personal care and assist patients with daily activities.
  • Perform basic clinical procedures independently or under RN supervision.
  • Meet nutritional needs by assisting with or ordering room service, setting up meal trays, and feeding patients.
  • Perform computer, clerical, and supply functions needed to operate the nursing unit.
  • Handle and control written and verbal communications among nursing-unit personnel, physicians, ancillary services, patients, visitors, families, and the organization.
  • Organize patient medical records.
Desired Qualifications
  • Desire to help people and/or aspirations of becoming a healthcare professional.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred.
  • Medical terminology is preferred.
  • CNA certification is preferred but is not required upon hire.

Beth Israel Lahey Health rolls out Heidi's AI scribing to all physicians after 90% report better patient presence

Beth Israel Lahey Health is rolling out Heidi's ambient AI scribing tool to all its physicians following a successful trial across its facilities. The health system, which serves over 6,000 providers across 14 hospitals and 175 primary care practices, prioritises addressing physician burnout, with nearly half of US physicians reporting burnout. During a six-month trial offering Heidi to 1,000 providers, the majority adopted the technology. Survey results showed 89% were satisfied with note quality, 90% felt more present with patients, 74% reduced after-hours work time, and 82% experienced reduced cognitive load during visits. The implementation demonstrates how ambient AI can deliver immediate relief to physicians whilst benefiting patients and the healthcare system. Heidi supports over 2 million consultations weekly globally and has raised $96.6 million from investors including Point72 Private Investments and Blackbird.
