Responsibilities
  • Plan, facilitate, and coach COS rollouts in operational areas and support functions.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the operational-excellence roadmap for assigned value streams or functions.
  • Conduct workshops and enable teams to apply COS elements such as Process Centric Teams, Visual Management, Standard Work, and Leader Standard Work.
  • Establish Tier meetings, visual management systems, and continuous-improvement routines and align them with site business priorities.
  • Help further develop and train Team Assurance.
  • Conduct COS maturity assessments, make progress transparent, and derive targeted improvement measures.
  • Analyze operational and administrative processes along the value chain using Value Stream Mapping and identify opportunities for compliance, cost-effectiveness, quality, and efficiency.
  • Lead or coach complex cross-functional and, when needed, cross-site continuous-improvement projects and structured problem-solving workshops.
  • Apply Lean and Lean Six Sigma methods in practice, including Gemba, 5S, Visual Management, Standard Work, process confirmation, and data-based root-cause analysis.
  • Develop solutions and robust recommendations with specialist departments for critical process deviations.
  • Coordinate and prioritize a portfolio of improvement initiatives and oversee their implementation and sustainable benefits.
  • Prepare and present results, decision options, and progress appropriately for relevant decision-making committees.
  • Coach and mentor leaders and teams across multiple organizational levels in Lean Leadership and continuous improvement.
  • Embed Leader Standard Work sustainably through Gemba walks, tiered coaching, and regular process confirmation.
  • Design, develop, and deliver local and global training and qualification formats covering COS, Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and structured problem solving.
  • Develop change-management and communication concepts and guide employees and leaders through transformation and cultural change.
  • Share and further develop good practices and standards within the site and the global operational-excellence network.

CSL Seqirus' triple-enhanced flu vaccine shows superior protection for older adults in Lancet study

CSL Seqirus has published Phase 3 study results in The Lancet Infectious Diseases for its MF59-adjuvanted cell-based higher-dose quadrivalent influenza vaccine for older adults. The vaccine, marketed as AUJEMFLU, combines three proven approaches: MF59 adjuvant, cell-based manufacturing, and higher-dose formulation. The randomised study enrolled 7,699 adults aged 50 and older across eight countries. Results demonstrated superiority versus an adjuvanted egg-based comparator across all four influenza strains and age groups. The vaccine showed non-inferiority versus a recombinant vaccine for three of four strains in the 50-plus age group and all four strains in those aged 65-plus. The trivalent formulation received approval from the UK's MHRA and the European Commission earlier this year for adults aged 50 and above. Regulatory submissions have been made in multiple markets.

CSL reports 2% drop in annual profit to $3.14B on weak plasma sales

Australian biopharmaceutical company CSL reported a 2% decline in annual profit on Tuesday, as its core plasma division experienced falling revenue. CSL to split Seqirus vaccine unit as shares slide 50% amid restructure and cost cuts
