Requirements
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development credential is required.
  • A valid Pennsylvania driver's license and a good driving record maintained according to St. Luke's policy are required.
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification is required within 60 days of hire.
  • The role requires the physical ability to sit, stand, walk, handle objects, push objects, transport patients weighing up to 250 pounds via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed, and perform frequent stooping, bending, reaching, touching, hearing, and seeing tasks.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with residents in independent living skills such as cooking, menu planning, grocery shopping, money management, cleaning, laundry, and personal hygiene.
  • Coach or supervise residents in completing daily activities according to individual needs, including connecting residents with community transportation resources or providing transportation when necessary and permitted by policy.
  • Provide recovery-oriented counseling using active listening and motivational enhancement techniques to engage assigned residents or alumni and facilitate change and growth.
  • Document resident activity, progress, and staff interventions, and communicate concerns and observations to supervisory staff.
  • Maintain medication logs.
  • Provide crisis intervention for residents as needed according to the schedule.
  • Maintain cleanliness of areas assigned to the program.
  • Conduct fire drills according to program policy and assignment.
  • Instruct residents in physical plant emergency procedures, standard precautions, and safe food storage and cooking practices.
  • Correct or report safety problems and work with the Program Manager and Clinical Coordinator to resolve physical plant or furnishing problems.
  • Conduct urine drug screens and breathalyzer screens according to program policy.
  • Conduct room, property, community-area, and vehicle searches according to program policy.
  • Maintain confidentiality of handled materials and comply with information-release requirements.
  • Comply with network and departmental employee, patient, and environmental safety policies and reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrate the organization's PCRAFT values during interactions with customers.
  • Demonstrate performance improvement in clinical care and outcomes, customer or service improvement, operational systems or processes, and safety as appropriate.
  • Use organizational resources effectively and efficiently in daily procedures, processes, and practices.
  • Comply with network and departmental attendance and dress-code policies.
  • Demonstrate competency in assessment, treatment range, growth and development knowledge, and age-appropriate communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
