Five AI infrastructure stocks to hold to 2030, from Marvell to Oracle's $664B backlog

Motley Fool contributor Matt Frankel picked five stocks that cover different layers of the AI build-out, arguing that data centres need more than chips and models. His list: Marvell Technology, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Forgent Power Solutions, Oracle, and Brookfield Corporation. Marvell's data centre revenue grew 46% last quarter, and it has agreed to acquire Lumentum. AMD's revenue rose 50%, and it agreed to buy World Labs for $8.2 billion. Forgent has a $3 billion backlog, and its bookings jumped 375%. Oracle has $664 billion in contracted future revenue, though its shares are down about 60% from their high. Brookfield plans a $100 billion data centre campus in Kentucky with NextEra Energy. Frankel warns that a slowdown in hyperscaler spending would hurt all five.

Alphabet falls 12% on $195B-$205B capex plan while Oracle rallies on 121% cloud growth

Alphabet, the parent of Google, fell more than 12% as investors focused on rising infrastructure spending and negative free cash flow, despite continued cloud growth. Oracle moved the other way. Alphabet reported quarterly revenue of $127.58 billion and diluted earnings of $2.12 per share. It raised its full-year capital expenditure estimate to $195 billion to $205 billion. Investment outlays rose to $71.35 billion, against operating cash flow of $42.29 billion. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure sales rose 121% to $7.4 billion. Total quarterly revenue grew 30% to $19.35 billion. Oracle said nearly 98% of its GPUs were in use. It signed more than $30 billion in new AI contracts using supplier finance and client prepayments, without extra Oracle funding. Investors appear to reward AI spending when capacity already earns contracted revenue, and to punish firms whose cash needs outpace short-term returns.

Nvidia shares dip 0.77% to $213.73 as Vera CPUs join Oracle's AI expansion

Nvidia shares fell 0.77% to $213.73 at 10:20 ET on October 29, as Oracle announced a wider rollout of Nvidia hardware. Oracle and Nvidia said Vera Rubin NVL72 systems and Vera CPUs are now generally available on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. They also plan to expand capacity to multiple gigawatts. Each NVL72 rack links 72 GPUs. Smaller eight-GPU Rubin HGX NVL8 systems remain planned. Vera CPUs handle tasks such as running code, calling tools, and retrieving data, work that can leave costly GPUs idle. The move gives Nvidia another way to earn from AI workloads. No purchase value was disclosed. Nvidia has a market capitalisation of $5.15 trillion and a price-to-earnings ratio of 27.02.

Oracle to bill per AI task as it eyes $225B revenue by 2030 and $90B+ capex

Oracle plans to charge customers for AI work done in its applications, on top of subscriptions. Chris Leone, executive vice president of application development, told investors on Wednesday that more AI use means more revenue without adding seats. The plan builds on Fusion Claw, a runtime unveiled this month to help customers control AI agents in finance, supply chain, and ERP software on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Oracle spent $55.7 billion on datacentres and cloud infrastructure in fiscal 2026 and plans to spend $90 billion to $95 billion in fiscal 2027. It hopes to raise about $40 billion in debt and equity in 2027, after raising $18 billion in debt in September 2025. Oracle expects fiscal 2030 revenue of $225 billion, a 35% compound annual growth rate from 2026, and positive cash flow by the second half of fiscal 2028.
