Women's sailing in the spotlight as Germany wins Virginie Hériot Trophy in Monaco.

Women's sailing in the spotlight as Germany wins Virginie Hériot Trophy in Monaco. GlobeNewswire Published Oct 19, 2026 MONACO, Oct. 19, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Germany's Norddeutscher Regatta Verein has won the fourth edition of the Virginie Hériot Trophy, edging out Switzerland's Club de Voile de Lausanne after a closely fought contest on the waters off Monaco. Hamburger Segel-Club completed the podium in third place, just one point behind the two leading teams. The fifth edition of race is already scheduled to take place off Monaco from 14 to 17 October 2027. Story continues below Organised by Yacht Club de Monaco in partnership with FxPro and North Sails, with support from the French and Monegasque Sailing Federations, the all-women regatta brought together 22 crews representing ten nationalities. This year's edition introduced a new challenge, with competitors racing RS21 keelboats for the first time in the event's history. Top Stories Interested in more newsletters? Browse here. Norddeutscher Regatta Verein and Club de Voile de Lausanne remained neck and neck throughout the qualifying rounds and the final, both finishing on eight points. The tie-break ultimately went in favour of the German team, while Hamburger Segel-Club secured third place with nine points. Designed specifically for racing, the RS21 one-design keelboat, launched in 2018, added an extra dimension to this year's competition. Following the use of J/70s in 2025, several competitors were sailing the RS21 for the first time, having to familiarise themselves with the boats supplied by the organisers. Norddeutscher Regatta Verein adapted quickly to the new class and went on to secure the overall victory. For defending champions Royal Thames Yacht Club, however, the change proved more challenging. The British team finished 15th, one year after dominating the event. Story continues below Three teams representing Monaco took part in the competition. Pinkwave II achieved the best local result, finishing ninth overall and first in the Silver group. Spectre placed 11th, while PinkWave finished 19th. All three crews are part of Pink Wave, an active community of female sailors who are members of Yacht Club de Monaco and are committed to promoting women's participation in sailing. Yacht Club de Monaco is preparing for a busy program of upcoming regattas. The next event is the Grimaldi Trophy, scheduled for 23-25 October 2026, a coastal race between Sanremo and Monaco. This will be followed by Act I of the Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series, taking place from 5 to 8 November 2026. The monthly winter series will culminate in the 43rd Primo Cup-UBS Trophy, scheduled for 10-14 March 2027. Photos accompanying this announcement are available at

Exclusive: FxPro sells EU clients to Capital.com as a "strategic optimisation, not a retreat"

Exclusive: FxPro sells EU clients to Capital.com as a "strategic optimisation, not a retreat" Wednesday, 14/10/2026 | 02:00 GMT-7 by Arnab Shome * FxPro established its presence in Europe after receiving its Cyprus licence in 2007. * "Our international markets have become the primary drivers of the business," said its COO, Peter Aust, stressing that it is still maintaining its London presence. FxPro has agreed to sell its client book under its Cyprus entity to Capital.com, Finance Magnates has learned exclusively. Peter Aust, Chief Operating Officer of FxPro, termed the move "a strategic step to further align [the broker's] operations with our long-term growth ambitions" and stressed that the Cyprus business is "not a significant part of the Group." The approval of the deal is currently pending with the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC), Capital.com detailed in a press release. Capital.com also added that only clients who meet its onboarding and risk standards will be transfered, and each will be assessed under its own client categorisation, appropriateness, target market and KYC requirements. However, the sale would not affect FxPro's broader operations, which have a massive presence outside the European bloc. "The vast majority of our growth in recent years has come from outside of Europe," Aust added. "Our international markets have become the primary drivers of the business, and we want to focus our investment, resources and innovation where we are seeing the greatest momentum." "We are simply letting go of a small and specific part of our business" FxPro received its Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF) licence in 2007, under which it expanded its presence across the European bloc. In addition to Cyprus, the broker also holds licences from regulators in the United Kingdom, the Bahamas and the Seychelles. "It's important to be clear about what [the deal] means," Aust stressed, adding that the FxPro Group remains fully independent. "We are simply letting go of a small and specific part of our business, and FxPro continues forward with the same ownership, leadership and long-term strategy." Justifying the rationale behind divesting the clients under the Cyprus unit, the COO said that the Group has been aligning its corporate structure with the way its business has evolved. "By streamlining areas that no longer reflect our growth profile, we're able to invest more decisively in the markets that do. That's strategic optimisation, not a retreat." He also highlighted that the broker is retaining its FCA licence and its headquarters in the City of London, reflecting its "long-term commitment to one of the world's most established and respected financial centres." Capital.com's expansion push. Capital.com, meanwhile, appears to be stretching its presence wherever possible. The broker, owned by billionaire Viktor Prokopenya, bought the retail and professional client book of OvalX, previously known as ETX Markets, in 2023 after that broker decided to close down. It is also on a spree to acquire new licences and has recently become regulated in South Africa, a market where several other brokers find it expensive to operate. It has applied for regulatory licences in Japan and Turkey, while hiring local CEOs in Brazil and Chile, signalling expansion into those countries. It also appears to be establishing local presences in Bahrain and Azerbaijan. Although it has not publicly revealed its global expansion plans, job postings show that it is also looking to secure a licence in Singapore. Capital.com runs its European operations from its base in Cyprus. Commenting on the deal with FxPro, Christoforos Soutzis, Europe CEO at Capital.com, said: "This step will strengthen our reach in Europe and once the transfer completes, will bring a well-established client base into the environment we have built for everyone who uses Capital.com." The broker also went beyond CFDs to add physical stock trading for traders in Europe, with plans to expand it in the UK and the UAE. The sale of FxPro's European client book came after Finance Magnates exclusively reported on Trade Nation agreeing to acquire the UK client book of legacy brand FXCM and AvaTrade buying most of its other businesses. HFM names Mohamed Elgayyar to lead GCC and Egypt markets.

HFM names Mohamed Elgayyar to lead GCC and Egypt markets. Monday, 31/08/2026 | 14:45 GMT-7 by Tanya Chepkova * Mohamed Elgayyar joins HFM after recent sales roles at GODO and FxPro, where he served as Country Manager for Egypt. * The appointment follows other regional HFM hires and promotions, including Jean Nahas in the UAE and Michalis Papacostas as Regional Head for MENA. HFM has appointed Mohamed Elgayyar as Head of GCC and Egypt, adding another regional sales executive to its Middle East and North Africa structure. Elgayyar announced the move on LinkedIn, saying he had joined the broker to lead its business across Egypt and the Gulf Cooperation Council markets. The title separates Egypt from the GCC, which covers Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. In his announcement, Elgayyar said he looked forward to "driving growth, building strong partnerships, and taking our presence across MENA to the next level." The post did not provide further details on staffing, product plans or country-level priorities for the new role. Sales background across MENA. Elgayyar describes himself as having more than 17 years of experience in the forex industry and financial markets investment in MENA, mainly in sales and customer relations roles. Before joining HFM, he worked as Regional Sales Manager at GODO for eight months, according to his LinkedIn profile. Earlier, he spent eight months at FxPro as Country Manager for Egypt. His public profile and earlier appointment notices also link him to previous regional roles across online trading and financial markets, with a focus on Egypt, North Africa and the wider MENA region. The new position gives HFM a dedicated executive for Egypt and the GCC cluster. For brokers operating in the region, these markets often require separate coverage because Egypt stays outside the Gulf bloc and has a different commercial and regulatory profile from the Gulf states. HFM strengthens regional management team. The appointment follows several other HFM leadership moves in MENA. In December 2025, HFM promoted Michalis Papacostas to Regional Head for MENA. Finance Magnates previously reported that the company appointed Jean Nahas as Head of Category in the UAE, where he was set to lead the company's newly established licensed entity and head its Dubai office. That appointment placed a senior executive in charge of the broker's UAE operations, including business growth, compliance with local requirements and regional presence. Earlier, Finance Magnates also reported that Ahmad Qutaishat joined HFM as Senior Business Development Manager after holding sales roles at ATFX MENA, VT Markets and Equiti Group. Elgayyar's appointment adds another market-focused role to that regional structure. HFM has not publicly disclosed additional operational targets for the GCC and Egypt remit alongside the LinkedIn announcement. Tanya Chepkova is a News Editor at Finance Magnates with more than 16 years of experience in financial journalism, covering forex, crypto, and digital asset markets. Her work spans daily industry reporting and data-driven, long-form explainers focused on market structure, trading models, and regulatory shifts. Trading in colour: FxPro's new accessibility feature for vision deficiencies.

Trading in colour: FxPro's new accessibility feature for vision deficiencies. The world's #1 broker FxPro has introduced customisable colour settings in the FxPro app for iOS and Android, designed specifically to support users with colour vision deficiencies and improve accessibility across the trading experience. Published Jun 16, 2026 Partner News Seeing the Market Clearly For most traders, colour is fundamental to how they read the markets. Green means up, and Red means down. At a glance, traders can immediately see whether an instrument is moving in their favour or against them. However, for an estimated 300 million people worldwide living with some form of colour vision deficiency, those same visual cues can be difficult or impossible to distinguish. When red and green appear nearly identical, a split-second misread can affect trading decisions and overall platform usability. To address this, FxPro has launched a new feature called Colour Adjust, now available in the FxPro app on both iOS and Android devices. Introducing Colour Adjust The new Colour Adjust feature allows users to choose a colour scheme best suited to their vision preferences. The setting can be found under: Profile > Appearance > Colour Adjust The app currently offers five colour options: Standard Colours - Red · Blue - FxPro's default setting, designed to provide a clearer distinction than the traditional red and green combination and one that fits more with the FxPro brand. - Red · Green - The classic trading colour pairing preferred by some users. New Accessible Colours - Orange · Green - Optimised for users with red-green colour blindness (including Protanopia and Deuteranopia), the two most common forms of colour vision deficiency. - Yellow Blue - Designed for users with blue-yellow colour blindness (Tritanopia), helping directional price movements remain clearly distinguishable. - Monochrome - A high-contrast greyscale option created for users with total colour blindness (Achromatopsia), ensuring the app remains fully functional and readable. Once selected, the chosen colour scheme is applied consistently across price movements, buy and sell actions, charts, and trading interface elements throughout the app. FxPro noted that the feature is not only intended for users with colour blindness. Some traders may simply prefer alternative colour combinations for comfort, readability, or personal trading preference, particularly during long trading sessions. Why It Matters Colour vision deficiency is significantly more common than many people realise. Approximately 1 in 12 men and 1 in 200 women are affected to some degree. Despite this, financial platforms and trading applications have historically been designed around the assumption of full colour vision. As a result, many traders have had to adapt to interfaces that were not designed with their visual needs in mind, relying more heavily on numbers or second-guessing market direction where colour cues should provide immediate clarity. With the introduction of Colour Adjust, FxPro aims to reduce that friction by giving traders greater control over how market information is displayed. Whether users experience Protanopia, Deuteranopia, Tritanopia, or Achromatopsia, the platform now offers tailored settings designed to improve usability and visual clarity. Peter Aust, Chief of Operations at FxPro, commented, "At FxPro, we believe great trading tools should work for everyone. That's why we've introduced customisable colour settings in the FxPro app for iOS and Android, designed specifically to support users with colour vision deficiencies." A Better Experience for Every Trader The feature reflects a broader focus on accessibility and user experience within the FxPro platform. Trading environments require quick decision-making, particularly during periods of heightened market volatility. Clear visual communication plays an important role in helping traders interact with markets efficiently and confidently. FxPro stated that the goal of the feature is not only technical accessibility, but also ensuring that traders can focus on the markets themselves rather than the limitations of the interface. The FxPro app has received 5-star recognition from the Investors Chronicle and Financial Times awards for two years in a row, highlighting the company's ongoing focus on platform usability, performance, and trading experience. Commitment to Inclusive Design FxPro described Colour Adjust as part of a broader commitment to inclusive platform development and user-focused design. Platform improvements are regularly shaped by client feedback, trading behaviour analysis, and ongoing usability research aimed at improving the overall trading experience. The company also noted that a strong trading experience is not defined solely by execution speed or trading conditions, but also by how comfortable, intuitive, and accessible the platform feels for the people using it every day. How to Enable Colour Adjust Users can activate the feature in just a few steps: - Open the FxPro app - Go to the Profile Menu - Tap Appearance - Select Colour Adjust - Choose the preferred colour scheme Changes apply instantly across the app without requiring a restart. Available Now on the FxPro App With Colour Adjust, FxPro continues to expand the accessibility and personalisation features available within its trading ecosystem, helping traders customise the platform in a way that works best for them. Whether designed for accessibility needs or simply personal preference, the new feature gives users greater control over how they experience the markets every day. The latest version of the FxPro app is available now on iOS and Android. Users can download the app and explore the new Colour Adjust feature directly within the platform.
