About the job

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on work experience in a precision machining environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and technical specifications.
  • Hands-on familiarity with computer numerical control machining operations and supporting process documentation, including work instructions, manufacturing process plans, and inspection plans.
  • A methodical and organized approach to documentation, including keeping documentation current and building systems others can follow.
  • Comfort working in a regulated environment, including International Traffic in Arms Regulations data handling and quality management system requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate current-state workflows and build a gap analysis that drives an action plan for distributed numerical control implementation, spindle monitoring software, radio-frequency identification tooling management, and enterprise resource planning process integration.
  • Develop and own manufacturing process plans, work instructions, and quality control plans for assigned jobs from first article through production.
  • Complete process packages, specify tooling and fixturing, and confirm floor-level execution for an initial set of five to ten stock-keeping units.
  • Coordinate with Programming on job launches and with Quality on in-process inspection criteria, first article inspection planning, and non-conformance root-cause investigations.
  • Identify and drive process improvement opportunities that reduce cycle time, improve yield, or lower cost using data from monitoring and enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Build and maintain process documentation in the document control system.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with distributed numerical control systems, spindle monitoring software, radio-frequency identification-based tooling management, or enterprise resource planning implementation in a machining environment.
  • An Industrial Engineering background with formal process improvement or workflow design experience.
  • AS9100 or aerospace and defense program experience, including first article inspection, source inspection, or audit support.
  • Management or team-lead experience.
  • Familiarity with Mazak equipment or five-axis horizontal machining workflows.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • August 2026 postings show active hiring across Cinnaminson and Paullina, not contraction.
  • Delva's 2026 process-engineering push targets higher throughput, better traceability, and lower scrap.
  • The 2020 CMTH acquisition gave Delva capital, robotics, and larger customers for growth.

What critics are saying

  • Delva's 2026 Blank Rome lobbying ties revenue to defense appropriations and contractor relationships.
  • Open 2026 machinist, quality, and engineering roles signal labor shortages and execution risk.
  • Any AS9100, ITAR, or first-article failure can freeze programs and kill defense renewals within months.

What makes Delva Tool & Machine unique

  • Since 1962, Delva specialized in precision machining for aerospace, defense, medical, and energy customers.
  • White Wolf's 2020 CMTH acquisition added robotics, capital access, and nine-site manufacturing scale.
  • Delva's 2026 roles emphasize DNC, RFID tooling, and ERP integration for regulated machining.
