Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in managed care, field reimbursement, patient services, specialty or biologics sales, or field operations.
  • At least 3 years in access management roles, at least 3 years of direct people management experience, or relevant experience.
  • Experience and understanding of retail and specialty pharmacies.
  • Ability to conduct field rides, monitor compliance-related activities, attend team and client meetings, training sessions, and national or regional business reviews; travel requirements will be defined based on client expectations.
  • Ensure all Access and Reimbursement Manager activities comply with approved program parameters, client policies, legal and compliance guidance, privacy requirements, adverse event and product complaint reporting obligations, and applicable federal and state requirements.
  • Understanding of third-party data sets such as Symphony Health and copay data.
  • Ability to deliver presentations using technology platforms such as Zoom, Webex, or Teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of medical insurance terminology and payer policies.
  • Knowledge of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services policies and processes, with expertise in Medicare Part D for pharmacy benefit products.
  • Ability to track and monitor budgets, expenses, contracts, and operational deliverables for timely reporting and appropriate financial stewardship.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and solve problems.
  • Ability to prepare and submit appropriate expense reports in a timely manner.
  • A valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
  • Drive team development by managing a large team of more than 10 Access and Reimbursement Managers and fostering a high-performing culture with accountability for access-related objectives.
  • Own day-to-day performance monitoring of Access and Reimbursement Manager key performance indicators, including activity, account engagement, access barrier trends, customer relationship management utilization, educational pull-through, and other agreed-upon measures.
  • Translate performance trends into actionable coaching, operational adjustments, and executive-ready business reviews.
  • Understand and articulate complex data sets and provide summaries, quarterly reports, and presentations for Executive Leadership.
  • Liaise with the client's Data and Analytics team and Market Access Lead to improve and refine Access and Reimbursement Manager key performance indicators.
  • Lead and manage operational activities including Access and Reimbursement Manager roster management, customer relationship management, dashboard reporting support, and other access performance measures.
  • Coordinate initial Access and Reimbursement Manager onboarding, sourcing and recruiting support, expense tracking and reporting, training logistics, and meeting coordination with the client and team.
  • Coach, mentor, and empower Access and Reimbursement Managers to deliver educational support to healthcare providers and patients to facilitate patient access.
  • Provide strategic and operational oversight so Access and Reimbursement Managers deliver compliant education on payer coverage, prior authorization requirements, benefit verification workflows, appeals and denials processes, affordability resources, specialty pharmacy coordination, and patient support program navigation.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and partner to the client.
  • Track and monitor budgets, expenses, contracts, and operational deliverables to ensure timely reporting and financial stewardship.
  • Prepare and submit appropriate expense reports in a timely manner.
