Requirements
  • At least 8 years of networking experience; alternatively, a CCNA with 5 years of networking experience or a CCNP with 2 years of networking experience will be considered.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with network configuration management.
  • Experience with automated generation of network configurations.
  • Experience designing network configurations.
  • Ability to demonstrate professional authority on networking topics while interacting with customers and key leaders.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Must hold CompTIA Security+ or an IAT II equivalent, such as CCNA Security, CySA+, or GICSP.
  • Must hold Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification; well-qualified candidates may be given 90 days to obtain the mandatory certification.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform integration and design work related to existing or emerging networking portions of the program.
  • Maintain the existing program network configurations repository.
  • Engineer configuration changes in response to emergent or planned architecture modifications.
  • Coordinate configuration delivery and access to customer sites and systems.
  • Interface with government and civilian program partners for updates and planning.
  • Design configurations to support new integrations or products associated with the program.
  • Develop and deploy plans and designs for network systems that meet DISA AISR-DT requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Conduct tactical network architecture design, feasibility assessments, and inter-tier collaboration.
  • Define monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network responds to changing demand.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and develop appropriate solutions, resources, and deployment processes.
  • Keep informed of current technologies to enhance knowledge of networking hardware, software, and best practices.

Sigma Defense wins SUNet 2.0 contract to build secure AI platform for Department of War

Sigma Defense has been selected to deliver a SUNet 2.0 prototype under an Other Transaction Agreement. The initiative aims to create a secure environment for artificial intelligence and machine learning development, data collaboration, and mission applications across the Department of War. Under the initial six-month effort, the Georgia-based company will deliver a production-representative Minimum Viable Product. The prototype will enable the government to evaluate core capabilities supporting AI/ML development, data operations, secure collaboration, and technology integration. The programme includes potential for a follow-on production effort. SUNet 2.0 is designed to provide a mission-ready foundation whilst maintaining government ownership of governance, identity, security, data, and operations.
