Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of demonstrable hands-on experience configuring Workday Canadian Payroll in a multi-unionized environment with complex rules.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical details.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Workday configuration and Microsoft Office tools such as Excel.
Responsibilities
  • Independently design, configure, and maintain Workday Canadian Payroll and other related modules, ensuring data accuracy, compliance with collective agreement requirements, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Payroll, Human Resources, business stakeholders, Centers of Excellence, and other Workday Module Leads to document requirements, assess feasibility, validate design options, coordinate testing, and gather feedback.
  • Develop and execute test plans, identify system enhancement opportunities, and recommend optimizations.
  • Provide Tier 2 support for payroll cycles by troubleshooting calculation and configuration issues, auditing results, and documenting root causes and prevention steps.
  • Prepare and deliver training materials, guides, and documentation for Payroll and other processes.
  • Stay updated on Workday industry standards and ensure compliance with data security, privacy regulations, and reporting needs.
  • Perform regular audits and corrections to maintain the integrity of Workday data.
  • Monitor Workday releases and communicate impacts to relevant stakeholders.
  • Own the intake, assessment, prioritization, and delivery of Workday Payroll enhancements, break-fixes, and operational issues, collaborating with stakeholders to balance business needs and system capacity.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience configuring Workday Benefits, Time Tracking, Compensation, or another Workday module.
  • Project Management experience and familiarity with company acquisitions.
  • Experience in complex unionized environments with multiple collective agreements.
  • Workday certifications in Payroll, HCM, and/or other Workday modules.
  • A Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) or Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation.
  • Written and spoken bilingualism in French and English.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial payroll legislation and regulatory requirements, including applicable Canada Revenue Agency and Revenu Québec requirements.
