About the job
- One year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care, or two years of Family Medicine experience.
- A bachelor's degree is required for Physician Assistants; a master's degree is required for Nurse Practitioners.
- National certification is required.
- Active state medical licensure is required.
- Experience treating patients ages six months and up in an acute care setting is required.
- Preliminary reads on electrocardiograms and X-rays are required.
- Applicable office procedures include suturing, splinting, and casting.
- Experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records are preferred.
- Strong listening skills are preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills are preferred.
- Examine and treat patients.
- Take patients’ medical histories.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays.
- Make diagnoses and prescribe medications.
- Treat minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting.
- Record progress notes for follow-up patients.
- Educate and counsel patients.
- Order and/or carry out therapy with patients.
- Give vaccinations and refer patients to additional care.
- Work anticipated eight- or twelve-hour shifts assigned by an authorized representative of GoHealth Urgent Care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
