Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Have authorization to work in the United States when the work location is in the United States.
  • Complete SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security.
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, and move items weighing 70 pounds or more regularly and repetitively lift 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces.
  • Stand for extended periods of time.
  • Carry heavy items up and down jetway stairs.
  • Remain alert to moving vehicles, equipment, or aircraft and use radio equipment.
  • Communicate information and instructions effectively and professionally with flight crew, gate agents, customers, and ground crew, verbally, by radio, and through overhead announcement systems.
  • Use computer systems daily.
  • Troubleshoot passenger reservation issues, process excess baggage fees correctly, and verify required visa documentation.
  • Process payment transactions for flight or seat upgrades and excess baggage fees.
  • Manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment and report to work regularly and punctually.
  • Wear the uniform and insignia prescribed by AGI and maintain a favorable corporate appearance.
  • Follow AGI and airline-specific safety, security, and operational procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Direct and assist Passenger Service Agents and Leads during shifts, assign duties, and resolve escalated customer concerns.
  • Make recommendations to management on staffing decisions, including hiring, discipline, and termination.
  • Ensure that new-hire and refresher training is completed for Passenger Service Agents and Leads.
  • Provide customer service according to AGI and airline-specific standards.
  • Handle customer interactions at ticket counters and gates.
  • Make and assist with reservations; prepare and issue tickets and itineraries; compute fares; issue refunds; check baggage; and collect excess baggage charges.
  • Handle ticketing and baggage concerns and complaints, perform lost-and-found activities, initiate baggage tracing procedures, process claims for damaged or lost baggage and personal articles, and maintain related records and reports.
  • Answer inquiries about flight schedules, fares, and general travel information.
  • Meet aircraft at gates or loading areas; perform departure-lounge and boarding-gate duties; check passenger tickets and documents; and arrange accommodations for reservations, standbys, and luggage.
  • Determine flight close-out times and prepare, complete, and check flight forms and post-departure procedures.
  • Coordinate flight movement messages between the gate, ground-handling team, flight crew, and airport vendors.
  • Follow procedures for accepting Dangerous Goods.
  • Report hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, and dangerous occurrences and comply with health, safety, and security policies and training.
Desired Qualifications
  • One or more years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Airline experience is preferred.
  • Previous face-to-face customer service experience is preferred.
