Requirements
  • An M.D. or M.D., Ph.D. degree is required.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology and/or Clinical Pathology is required.
  • Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in Kansas is required.
  • Experience in research focused on cancer biology or a related discipline is required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead an independent, externally funded research program in cancer-focused investigation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the department, The University of Kansas Cancer Center, and the broader academic community.
  • Participate 25% to 30% on clinical service within a pathology subspecialty.
  • Contribute to the academic mission through graduate, medical student, and residency education.
Desired Qualifications
  • A robust publication record and an independently funded research program, or strong potential for sustained external funding, is preferred.
  • A strong track record in cancer biology, translational oncology, or precision diagnostics is preferred, particularly work advancing understanding of tumor biology and enabling innovative approaches to cancer diagnosis, treatment, and patient outcomes.
