Requirements
  • Knowledge of legal, regulatory, litigation, and procedural requirements for Workers’ Compensation claims.
  • Experience evaluating and negotiating settlements.
  • Ability to interpret policy language accurately and consistently.
  • Ability to think laterally, solve problems, and develop ideas to improve working practices.
  • Strong communication, time-management, administrative, and report-writing skills.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise in proactively directing and resolving Defense Based Act claims in accordance with best claim practices and AIG quality standards.
  • Manage the indemnity, medical, and legal aspects of assigned claims using available resources.
  • Use investigation, claim-handling, litigation, and claim-evaluation skills to achieve timely, cost-effective claim settlements and protect recovery rights when applicable.
  • Provide prompt and effective customer service.
  • Identify and review suspect or fraudulent claims consistently and handle them according to established guidelines.
  • Maintain regular contact with internal stakeholders, brokers, medical experts, clients’ lawyers, injured workers, and their legal representatives; build effective relationships with internal and external customers and act as a point of referral.
  • Use claims experience to help improve products in collaboration with underwriting colleagues.
Desired Qualifications
  • Specialist knowledge of Defense Base Act claims is preferred.

AIG closes $1.3B dual-tranche euro senior note offering with 2031 and 2036 maturities

American International Group has completed a €1.125 billion euro-denominated senior note offering in two tranches. The company issued €625 million in 4.250% notes due 2031 and €500 million in 4.750% notes due 2036, both closing on 24 September 2026. The underwriting agreement, executed on 15 September, included Deutsche Bank AG London Branch, J.P. Morgan Securities, BNP Paribas, and Citigroup Global Markets as lead underwriters. The Bank of New York Mellon serves as trustee for both tranches. Sullivan & Cromwell provided a legal opinion confirming the validity of the notes. AIG filed the details with the SEC in a Form 8-K on 24 September.

Big Short' investor Steve Eisman backs AIG as analyst calls insurer 'really, really cheap
