Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience in welding, fabrication, or mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 1 year of experience in structural fitting.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Basic proficiency with metal inert gas welding.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions with exposure to fumes while using proper respiratory protection.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to perform the listed physical activities, including standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, turning, twisting, bending, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and seeing and hearing.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50–75 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Perform structural welding on enclosure components by following drawings and trained procedures.
  • Perform basic mechanical assembly, including fitting panels, installing hardware, and preparing components for welding or final assembly.
  • Read and follow blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine weld and assembly requirements.
  • Complete tasks for roofs, doors, and subassemblies to support production flow and ensure components meet dimensional and quality requirements.
  • Support material movement and positioning using overhead cranes or rigging.
  • Conduct visual weld checks, report defects, and assist with rework.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all personal protective equipment requirements, including respirators when required for certain materials.
  • Set up and tear down welding and assembly workstations.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and maintain workflow.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience in metal inert gas short-arc welding.
  • Exposure to tungsten inert gas or shielded metal arc welding.
  • Welding certifications, such as American Welding Society or American Society of Mechanical Engineers certifications, or technical school coursework.
  • Previous experience with generator enclosure assembly.
  • Previous experience with roofs, doors, and subassembly work.
  • Experience using welding and fitting tools, tape measures, overhead cranes, and respirators.
