Overview:
We are seeking a Field Service Manager to lead the growth and development of our national network of field service technicians who are responsible for the installation, trouble shooting, and maintenance of our unique bell ringing and clock products. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that Verdin runs an effective, high quality field service operation that generates positive returns and high levels of customer satisfaction. This position will report directly to our National Service Manager.
The successful candidate will spend the first several months working with our senior engineers and product experts to master our broad range of bell ringing and clock products. The objective is to obtain a deep, comprehensive knowledge of our products so that you can effectively hire, train, evaluate, and support the technical field work of our service technicians. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that our technicians possess the knowledge and skills to install our products and keep them operating safely and effectively.
Specific Job Functions:
- Work closely with our National Service Manager and other team leaders to recruit, hire, train, and develop field service technicians in both Cincinnati and remote locations around the country.
- Create and deploy technical training programs for both new and experienced technicians, including preparation of course materials and instructional aids.
- Conduct regular hands-on training sessions with new field service technicians as well as periodic refresher courses for experienced technicians.
- Facilitate general safety training in accordance with OSHA regulations and provide specific training on the proper techniques to manage Verdin’s products safely and efficiently.
- Provide real time technical support and troubleshooting assistance to field service technicians working on site to resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
- Provide demonstrations on the proper diagnostic, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Ensure that technicians complete and submit work reports in a timely manner with proper documentation, including photos and a written description of the work performed on site.
- Travel periodically to project sites to perform quality control inspections of completed field work.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to stay updated on new product development and field service methods for the installation and service of our products.
What Makes You a Great Fit?
- At least 5 years in field service or a similar customer-facing role working with mechanical and electrical systems products.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Training and instruction experience, including hands-on training and development of course material.
- Proficiency in field management software, CRM programs, and Microsoft Office programs; experience with learning management systems is a plus.
- Leadership ability and self-confidence in presenting information to others and building effective working relationships across departments.
- Sense of urgency to help others solve problems.
