About the job

Requirements
  • The candidate must have 6–10 years of enterprise software-as-a-service sales experience selling complex platforms to technical buyers.
  • The candidate must have experience selling infrastructure, cloud, artificial intelligence and machine learning, developer tools, data platforms, or other architecture-level technology offerings.
  • The candidate must have demonstrated success generating pipeline and closing net-new enterprise business in emerging or category-creation markets.
  • The candidate must have experience navigating multi-stakeholder enterprise buying processes with technical champions and executive sponsors.
  • The candidate must have experience operating in early-stage or founder-led environments where go-to-market systems were still being defined.
  • The candidate should have exposure to modern cloud-native ecosystems, including hyperscalers, data platforms, developer infrastructure, and artificial intelligence platforms.
  • The candidate must be able to sell to skeptical, highly technical users, not only economic buyers.
  • The candidate must be able to engage confidently with architects, principal engineers, and engineering leadership.
  • The candidate must be able to convert product usage and intent signals into structured enterprise sales processes.
  • The candidate must be able to identify and enable internal advocates who drive adoption.
Responsibilities
  • Own full-cycle enterprise sales from pipeline creation through close.
  • Generate pipeline through outbound activity, network-driven opportunities, and high-conviction account engagement.
  • Engage primary users early to understand their architecture challenges, modernization goals, and organizational imperatives and constraints.
  • Partner with the Solutions Architect to turn technical validation into decision-grade artifacts.
  • Multi-thread across engineering, platform, and executive stakeholders.
  • Convert technical proof into clear business narratives covering business value, return on investment, velocity, and risk reduction.
  • Structure and drive proof-of-value engagements with clear success criteria and mutual action plans.
  • Partner with the CEO to secure executive alignment and drive deals to close.
  • Help define and refine the sales-assisted playbook for a new category.
  • Feed high-fidelity market insight back into product, positioning, and activation.
Desired Qualifications
  • The candidate should be diagnostic and consultative, framing the situation before pitching and bringing structure to ambiguous problems.
  • The candidate should be technically credible when engaging with architects, principal engineers, and engineering leadership.
  • The candidate should be artifact-driven, translating technical validation into clear, decision-grade deliverables that move deals forward.
  • The candidate should be experienced with product-led sales and converting product usage and intent signals into structured enterprise sales.
  • The candidate should be a high-trust operator who represents the company and its culture in the market.
  • The candidate should have a builder mindset and want to shape the early commercial system of a category-defining company.
  • The candidate should have high grit and thrive in zero-to-one environments while continuing to produce through ambiguity.

What believers are saying

  • Catio announced $3M funding on March 5, 2025, extending its runway.
  • Its August 2026 product brochure signals active packaging of a clearer sales story.
  • Open roles on Ashby in 2026 show ongoing buildout across engineering and commercial functions.

What critics are saying

  • VentureBeat said Catio remained closed beta in July 2024, signaling weak commercialization.
  • The company hired Founding Solutions Architect and FDA roles in 2026 before clear enterprise scale.
  • If pilots never convert into subscriptions, Catio becomes a services-heavy tool and disappears.

What makes Catio unique

  • Catio’s Architecture IDE turns production topology into decision-grade architecture plans and specs.
  • It targets CTO-level decisions, not runtime observability, unlike Datadog-style monitoring tools.
  • Forward-deployed architecture roles show a product built for enterprise proof-of-value workflows.
