  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least two years of experience in a sales-oriented environment with a proven track record of success is required.
  • The employee must comply with the SAFE Act and be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System.
  • Strong working knowledge of underwriting guidelines for each agency and bank overlays for portfolio business is required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills are required.
  • The employee must manage time effectively, deliver presentations and speak publicly, interact well with team members and customers, maintain attention to detail and accuracy, multitask, stay organized, and achieve sales goals through relationship-based selling techniques.
  • The position requires the ability to work in a traditional office environment and travel to customer, branch, meeting, and conference locations throughout Philadelphia, Bucks, and Montgomery Counties.
  • Occasional extended hours are required to participate in community events.
  • The position requires lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds, manual dexterity for computer work, and the ability to speak, hear, and see to perform essential functions.
Responsibilities
  • Originate residential mortgage, home equity, and home equity line of credit products in accordance with bank lending policies and established underwriting standards.
  • Prospect, develop, and manage a pipeline of prospective borrowers from initial inquiry through application, approval, closing, and post-closing follow-up.
  • Generate mortgage and home equity applications from low-to-moderate-income borrowers and borrowers in targeted geographies within the bank’s market area.
  • Promote and appropriately use the bank’s specially designed mortgage and home equity products, including programs intended to address identified community credit needs.
  • Maintain working knowledge of PHFA and other applicable affordable-housing, first-time-homebuyer, and down-payment assistance programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with real estate agents, brokers, builders, and other mortgage referral sources to generate sustainable application flow.
  • Establish relationships with community organizations, housing counselors, nonprofit organizations, employers, and community leaders serving the bank’s Community Reinvestment Act markets.
  • Conduct regular meetings, presentations, educational sessions, and outreach activities with real estate and community partners.
  • Participate in community events, homebuyer education programs, housing fairs, and financial-literacy initiatives to increase awareness of the bank’s lending products.
  • Collaborate with processors, underwriters, closing personnel, and other bank departments to facilitate timely and quality loan decisions and closings.
  • Maintain accurate and timely customer, referral, pipeline, and loan activity information in the bank’s Encompass loan origination system and Salesforce customer relationship management system.
  • Support the bank’s Community Reinvestment Act objectives by generating measurable activity across applicable lending and community-outreach performance measures, including applications, originations, closings, and targeted-geography activity.
  • Provide management with information regarding community credit needs, market opportunities, referral activity, and opportunities to increase the bank’s lending presence in underserved or targeted markets.
  • Comply with applicable regulations and bank policies regarding employment and employment law, and participate in annual compliance and other job-related training.
  • Comply with applicable Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Housing Act, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Truth in Lending, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Protect the confidentiality, privacy, and security of customer and bank information in accordance with bank policies and applicable law.
Desired Qualifications
  • A college degree is preferred.
  • An established network of referral sources is preferred.
  • Experience originating affordable residential loans and providing loan products tailored to low-to-moderate-income borrowers and/or first-time homebuyer programs is preferred.
  • The ability to speak multiple languages is preferred but not required.
