Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Management, Business, or a related field is required.
  • Five years of Employee and Labor Relations experience are required.
  • Three years of experience leading a team of employees are required.
  • Knowledge of labor relations issues is required.
  • The role requires ensuring legal compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and organizational policies.
  • The role requires frequent sitting and standing, frequent keyboard use, and the ability to lift and carry 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Support the development and execution of employee and labor relations strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Partner with senior leadership to address employee relations matters, workforce trends, and labor law considerations.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of policies and programs that promote fair treatment, engagement, and effective conflict resolution.
  • Manage day-to-day labor relations activities, including collective bargaining support, contract administration, and union relationships.
  • Serve as a lead negotiator or key member of the negotiation team, as appropriate.
  • Oversee grievance and arbitration processes and maintain productive relationships with union representatives.
  • Lead the employee relations function, including workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
  • Establish and maintain consistent practices for addressing employee concerns, complaints, and performance issues.
  • Partner with Human Resources and business leaders to improve employee engagement and strengthen manager effectiveness.
  • Identify potential employee relations risks and partner with legal and Human Resources leadership to address complex issues.
  • Support responses to agency inquiries and employment-related claims.
  • Manage and develop an employee and labor relations team.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to Human Resources business partners and managers on employee relations best practices.
  • Support the delivery of training on labor relations, conflict management, and employment law.
