Requirements

A Master's Degree in Nursing with a Nurse Practitioner degree emphasis or an equivalent program certificate.
Official recognition as a Nurse Practitioner in the state where the team member works.
Prescriptive authority for the state where the team member works.
A controlled substance license for the state where the team member works and a federal Drug Enforcement Administration license.

Responsibilities

Provide primary health care to a specific patient population within written protocols and established nursing standards, procedures, and practices.
Engage in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, defects, or injuries and recommend or prescribe treatments for physical, mental, or functional ailments or defects.
Complete charting, summaries, correspondence, and other required paperwork to document care and support billing.
Participate in physician educational programs provided by the employer concerning capitated medicine and its implications for physician practice patterns.
Participate in responding to requests for proposals for managed care contracts.
Participate in establishing quality assurance programs and utilization management programs.
Participate in selecting management information systems.
Participate in developing patient education services and patient satisfaction surveys.
Assist in developing operational and capital budgets.
Participate in operational assessments to identify revenue enhancement, expense reduction, consolidation efficiencies, and billing opportunities.
Maintain courteous and cooperative working relationships with management, employees, physicians, patients, guarantors, and the general public.
Participate in activities that further the public image of the employer.

Job Summary

Accountabilities

Minimum Requirements
