Requirements
  • Extensive experience servicing and maintaining commercial HVAC systems.

  • Eight years of relevant experience in facility maintenance services, including carpentry/structural work, painting, and plastering.
  • Undergraduate or technical/vocational studies with equivalent work experience; specialist training in property management.
  • A valid driver’s license and safe driving record are required.
  • A valid credit and/or background check is required as part of the selection process.
  • The role is safety-sensitive and may be subject to random alcohol and other drug testing.
  • Knowledge of facility maintenance and planning methods, programs, practices, and procedures; extensive knowledge of facility management.
  • Strong understanding of project management concepts and practices.
  • Detailed understanding of buildings, electrical, fire, EPA, and other federal, state, and local codes and regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial statement preparation, budgeting, and financial analysis concepts and techniques.
  • Ability to lead facility maintenance staff responsible for planning, installation, maintenance, testing, repair, and operation of building, electrical, HVAC, and life safety systems.
  • Ability to develop and implement facility maintenance programs and practices; lead and plan diverse facility maintenance and operations projects; and evaluate and recommend solutions to facility maintenance problems and incidents.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with associates at all levels and external contractors.
Responsibilities
  • Lead maintenance and service operations for commercial properties throughout the Arena District in Columbus, Ohio.
  • Lead facilities maintenance supervisors and workers who perform general maintenance services and repairs.
  • Direct technical support staff and arrange necessary outside technical and non-technical support services to ensure efficient care of grounds and support equipment.
  • Lead staff responsible for general maintenance of electrical systems and fixtures, apparatus, equipment and wiring, including motors, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers and transformers, and general maintenance of HVAC and life safety systems.
  • Lead staff responsible for janitorial and yard labor functions.
  • Develop work procedures and methods to minimize property management expenses.
  • Develop and administer safety policies and procedures and be responsible for safety-measure performance.
  • Identify maintenance needs and formalize and approve operating plans and budgets to improve quality and efficiency across company facilities.
  • Negotiate and select outside contractor services and products to meet facility maintenance objectives.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and integrate ideas regarding facility maintenance and operations.
  • Manage associates, including performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow planning and day-to-day administration, hiring and placement, and disciplinary actions.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Work non-standard hours as needed and potentially work rotating shifts.

  • Previous leadership experience managing HVAC technicians or field service teams.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance technical responsibilities with team leadership and operational management.
  • Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  • Prior managerial or supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
  • Related certifications are preferred, such as Level I Vibration Analyst and Thermographer certifications, a relevant State Hydronics License, State HVAC License, and CFC refrigerant certification.

Nationwide hits record $73.2B in sales as insurer enters 100th year

Nationwide has reported record financial results for 2025, entering its centennial year with total adjusted capital of $32.8 billion, the highest in its 100-year history.
