Requirements
  • A high school diploma, General Educational Development credential, or equivalent is required.
  • Truck Driver 1 requires more than two years of driving experience.
  • Truck Driver 2 requires more than five years of driving experience.
  • Truck Driver 3 requires more than ten years of driving experience.
  • The employee must be able to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or walk for extended periods on project sites, climb in and out of equipment, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
  • The employee must use required personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, gloves, a hard hat, and steel-toed boots.
  • Effective communication, tool use, and adherence to safety protocols are required.
Responsibilities
  • Safely and efficiently operate off-highway construction vehicles used for earth-moving operations, including articulating trucks, rigid-frame haul trucks, agricultural tractors, and articulated dump trucks.
  • Operate off-highway construction vehicles for dust control and dirt compaction.
  • Transport soil and other materials to appropriate locations for stockpiling or disposal.
  • Use hand-held mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources.
  • Read and comply with safety plans, rules, maintenance instructions, training materials, Material Safety Data Sheets, warning tags, traffic signs, and procedure manuals.
  • Understand the operational characteristics of a variety of off-highway construction vehicles.
  • Participate in a drug-free workplace and random drug-testing program.
  • Promote a safety culture supporting Incident and Injury Free performance.
  • Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Forty-hour HAZWOPER training is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Competent Person Safety Training is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Eight-hour Supervisory Training is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Thirty-hour OSHA Construction Safety Training is preferred but not mandatory.
  • First Aid and CPR training is preferred but not mandatory.
