Requirements
  • Three years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong mathematics skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to resolve conflicts and handle issues involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Responsibilities
  • Become familiar with customer-specific quality system requirements, including the customer-specific portal.
  • Act as liaison with external parties, including customers and suppliers, on matters relating to assigned products.
  • Head Advanced Product Quality Planning efforts and review and update the related documentation as needed.
  • Develop and maintain process flow diagrams.
  • Develop and maintain process control plans.
  • Develop and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis plans.
  • Develop manufacturing work instructions.
  • Develop quality inspection instructions.
  • Evaluate error-proofing effectiveness.
  • Review internally collected variable and attribute data.
  • Verify bill of materials accuracy.
  • Manage customer issues.
  • Coordinate internal product sorts and quality alerts.
  • Implement interim corrective actions.
  • Implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Respond to customers regarding concerns and issues, both in writing and verbally.
  • Train employees on quality issues as needed.
  • Develop, document, and provide continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, production, and quality through layered process auditing and scrap reduction.
  • Read and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and apply that knowledge as needed.
  • Perform problem-solving techniques.
  • Perform process capability studies using statistical techniques as needed.
  • Support International Automotive Task Force 16949 and ISO 14001 initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Experience with supplier Production Part Approval Process procedures.
  • Familiarity with customer-specific quality system requirements and customer portals.
  • Familiarity with International Automotive Task Force 16949 and ISO 14001 initiatives.
