Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related industrial, scientific, or business-related field.
  • 10+ years of quality related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • 4+ years prior & progressive experience in quality management or technical leadership roles leading diverse teams.
  • Experience leading multi-facility operation domestically and internationally in the field of quality, including interaction with supply and customer bases.
  • Experience developing and implementing various quality management systems throughout a multi facility global operation. i.e. Supplier program, Quality System, Quality software, continuous improvement, welding programs, or metallurgical programs, etc.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry dealing with a variety of federal, state, local and international regulations and standards.
  • Extensive experience in developing correct actions with suppliers, manufacturing operations and customers with regards to complex quality related issues.
  • APQP experience with launching new products and production lines.
  • Acquisition and divestiture experience with manufacturing operations and related quality systems.
  • Appropriate quality certifications highly desired.
Responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility of Quality activities across Navico Group.
  • Create and implement best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve business performance.
  • Refine and standardize the quality management systems to deliver quality excellence across the value chain to both internal and external customers, including suppliers.
  • Lead and manage the global quality teams from new product start of production validation phase through warranty to ensure a proactive quality culture.
  • Focuses on quality at the source, and in the design and production process to proactively address quality prevention.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering teams to design quality and error proofing into development process.
  • Outline product compliance standards to satisfy all regulatory agencies or voluntary standard organizations to keep pace with industry best practices.
  • Improve quality and reliability standards by studying industry benchmarks and the requirements of customer. Define the metrics required to assess performance against those standards.
  • Create a continuous improvement culture via cross site collaboration.
  • Evaluate plant operations quality challenges and lead local teams to take action to mitigate risk and develop opportunities.
  • Actively lead the reduction of Customer CPR’s, Warranty, Cost of Quality and in-house scrap and waste.
  • Drive the successful implementation or roll-out of quality and problem-solving toolkits, templates, and metrics. Tools could include, but not be limited to: 8D, 5P, Fishbone, 3x5Why, Shainin (Red-X), Paynter analysis, root-cause analysis.
  • Develop quality training program approaches, including the strategy, implementation planning and continue monitoring for adjustments.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and correct all product compliance findings, including any program guideline enhancements.
  • Drive prioritization from warranty, NPS, supplier and plant quality to optimize results and alignment to deliver enhanced customer satisfaction.
  • Direct the actions of quality staff and coordinate and support the activities of the quality teams at the plants.
  • Support the implementation and standard use of key quality systems at all plant locations such as EQMS systems and digital processes.
  • Handle coordination of quality related activities including supplier quality, vendor approvals for safety critical parts, manufacturing quality, in-process verification, and testing; oversees the audit function, configuration management system, calibration system.
  • Provide leadership & guidance and serve as an escalation point to the PPC and Regulatory Compliance Lead who is responsible for chairing the Navico Group PPC committee; the PPC is a cross functional team that addresses Navico Group product safety and integrity issues.
